The difference comes when the vehicle starts. Less viscous oil will help easy flow of oil through galleries hence less load on engine while starting. Secondly, you are right about performing the same on operating temperature. Thirdly, 20w-50 &10w-40 are mostly not available in fully synthetic, which matters alot when the oil used and changes its properties with time. Synthetic oil will maintain its viscosity when used 3000-4000-5000 km while mineral ones are a different story.

These are the cold state tests.
In PK, the winter temperatures are not very killing. Hardly 5~10 degree Celsius in main cities at morning times. Hence cold start does not matter much.

But summer temperatures are killing. 40~45 degree Celsius. Hence if we will use engine oil with 2nd viscosity as 40 & 50, then technically these are hard for engines. Engine need low viscose oils to work easily during hot summers.

good that’s why mostly their performance is better than Mineral oils.

But even in the synthetic oils, it depends what
kind of base oil is used. If Synthetic base oil, then its expensive and also
has longer change intervals. And if base oil is mineral, then not recommended
for longer drain intervals.

These tests were conducted at room temperature. You should watch the video in order to understand what I was stating.

They were kept in minus -35F before testing in room temp that why used conventional/mineral oil was taking a lot of time to flow out.

Hello Guys, I have changed my Honda N WGN oil to Total 9000 w5-30 and after changing it now my car is giving 20KM/LTR with AC which is good.

But it still shows wrench icon on start only blinks (9 times) and goes away. Recently I have installed Android System from JDM Experts and according to JDM it's not related to Navigation system at all. Car is driven 31780 km till now. Any ideas what's the wrench icon is try to say to me.

that wrench icon mean its time to change engine oil, did u reset it after changing your engine oil? Even my civic turbo shows this wrench icon blinking as oil life was 1000km left so i changed it n got it reset.

Yes everything is check and drive is way smooth than before. How I can reset it after I change the engine oil?

The oil and air filter were also changed. I didn't check the company of filter. it was cost around 600 and air filter was 400.
Total 9000 w5-30 cost me 3000.

Brother how you have reset the wrench icon?

In Honda Civic turbo the meter shows oil life, once u reset the oil life after changing engine oil/oil filter that wrench icon disappeared.

But my question, is how you reset it is whats the process to do it.
I have only single button which is used to change the display.

I have just finished reading the whole conversation.
Thanks a lot brothers for your time, patience and guidance and sharing your knowledge / experiences.

For some of my friends, 0w-20 is working flawlessly, for others 5w-20 is best (if 0w-20 can work flawlessly, then 0w-30 would be even better specially in summers, and 5w-30 ka to issue hi nai hai)
And we have at least one person for each 0w-20, 5w-20 and 5w-30 here, with personal experiences with these oil grades; and without damaging engine or compromising its integrity.

In a nutshell and as per my verdict:

0w-20, 0w-30, 5w-20 and 5w-30 API SN, Fully Synthetic Motor oils are best suited for 660-1000cc used JDM vehicles and can even work throughout the year (but depending on cities, like Islamabad or Karachi and wise decision between these 04 grades)! And one should always choose and decide between these oil grades only, for 660-1000 cc JDM vehicles
