That's why year has passed and not outcome, We are still doubtful about safety.

I want to know if LPG can be filled in CNG cylinder (i think yes) if yes, then from where can i fill LPG in Karachi. Please also tell if LPG is harmful for engine or not.

Note: Mostly domestic LPG cylinder filling shops are saying it is not possible in other words they are saying they can't fill it (As the usually fill LPG by measuring weight of LPG cylinder).

Almost a year ago, it started but practically things are different and now in Sindh, cng shortage has started like kpk and Punjab and middle class and lower class is suffering with inflation too so lpg, lng are emerging as Cng alternative and many people are doibg but CNG association or Testing centres are not endorsing this practice so again this is fishy taht this ia due to some technical reason or financial differences

natural gas in pipe lines is story from past now, in many areas across Karachi it is almost non-existent. In some areas it is like electricity load shedding aka timed availability.

Since Oct 25th to date approximately Rs. 19000 worth LPG has been used in kitchen. Forget about geysers warm water in taps.

In Pakistan we destroyed our natural gas reserves (resources) by making it cheap fuel for transport industry. Every time i saw a CNG vehicle filling 9 kgs of gas at Rs. 125 / kg, the amount was equivalent to my WINTER' gas bill. So imagine my 30 days of gas was consumed by a taxi just for 250 km run, and after that he burn again my monthly gas consumption. Figure out what speed we have F&%!ED our gas reserves. Now looking around to buy from abroad, by paying foreign exchange which again is slowly vanishing.

LPG or CNG as transportation fuel will also become premium product for us soon,

Alhamdulillah I live in Punjab near kpk. So I get cng easily from my associate's pump and it's abundantly available in kpk. Alhamdulillah enjoying the scene.
And as far as domestic use of gas is concerned. I have huge solar system installed with netetering so switch to electric heaters and even big size electric geyser for home. Alhamdulillah relieved from bills now

Have you switched to LPG or still thinking, i have converted 1 of my car, LPG shop seller took 200 extra for tuning kit for LPG while filled 10 Kg of gas in to worth 2100.

I did from LPG shop near Ali Apartments behind Gulshan KDA market near Dewa school. Also i found shop in scheme 33, they both have specialized nozzle with allied equipment to fill LPG in your cylinder just like you fill CNG.

My brother and a cousin in Lahore are using LPG in their Khyber and Alto (old shape) for 4 and 3 years now respectively and are pretty happy with their decisions, saying their fuel expense is less than half now as compared to petrol.

they were "convincing" me to switch my Swift to LPG which i am still skeptical about.

Is the travelling experience as a passenger of LPG car in 2023, the same as it used to be 2 decades ago in the black yellow cab, that profound LPG smell that stays in for 3 to 4 days even after travel

Mileage is the difference plus Pick is improved comparatively.

In brother's Mehran, CNG used to give 13 to 13.5(with A/C) on CNG while it is giving 22 Km per Kg(with A/C) and 24 Km per Kg without A/C in crowdy jam traffic while gives additional 2 to 3 Kilometers in open traffic on continuous Roads.

No, Smell is not like 2 decades ago or what I experienced 30-32 years ago. It is ok now.

Ask your brother and cousin about only issue which I observed that in colder nights or early morning, it takes 2 to 3 self in start which it takes half self to restart on Petrol or CNG... Might be some other issue in car or due to LPG .I have not reached to conclusion

yes, i have noticed that too in Khyber especially. When he was starting, it took 2-3 selfs at least.. and on very cold nights, the car was not going above 100 km/h : )

about Alto, when he started, it started in first self ... but i'll reconfirm that how is it behaving these days ..

The problem of Khyber regarding self is that the initial gas supply is low, you need to give a little very little self and then give the proper long self. It will work. To correct it I guess you need to increase the gas supply at idle.

the khyber n Alto, both are carby engines and very limited electronics, while swift is EFI which relies on data from various sensors n adjusts performance accordingly, if i were you i wud keep using it on petrol considering very high engine replacements costs etc, and if inevitable ten sell it n buy a fuel economical car.

and if budget friendly then find a khyber or alto in good condition in use it with lpg as fuel till recession, fuel infation settles

just some updates from people whom i have met. My uncle and my father in law both have installed LPG in their cars (Margalla and City 2002) using their CNG cylinders. Margalla initially met with some acceleration related problems and City suffers from some self related problems. After visiting the mechanic 2,3 times, my uncle is now satisfied with his Margalla. I am yet to ask them about fuel mileage.

Sirrr... going a bit off topic but .... LPG is not a good solution for kitchen. A brotherly advise: Get a westpoint induction cooker. will cost probably 14k and you will need specific utensils costing 8-10k. The induction system is i) safe, ii) cost effective iii) easier to cook, and iv) saves time. Just to give an example. It takes 4,5 mins to prepare tea on induction vs. 10,12 mins on an LPG cylinder.

Now towards the costing part: There are various levels you can operate the machine on. But assuming an average 1200W level, and operating it for 4 hours daily, you will end up consuming 4.5units daily and 135 units monthly. At rs50/unit electricity (after accounting for additional charges and taxes), your monthly bill would be hardly 6,750. Thats apparently the max you would be billed. If you use the machine efficiently, you can reduce the bill to even 4-5k per month.

i have a question. dont know related or not. i want to use CNG cylinder for lpg to use it with stove. as now a days SSGC has some shortage of gas to provide home consumers. and Lpg cylinders are very costly.

yes you can use the CNG cylinder for LPG fuel.
