Is right, us laws being a bit weird allow “technically semi synthetics” to be classed as full synthetic oils.

So how do we know whats fully synthetic? because the packing of Mobil 5W-30 says "Advanced Full Synthetic". Now I don't know if the word "advance" is some marketing or it truly is fully synthetic

From what I undertand from the article you posted is that as long as the requirements are met it doesn't matter if its a POA oil or HC oil

it means the Honda fully synthetic oil by idemitsu is actually not fully synthetic. I can feel the difference in the car drive as soon as it touches 5 or 6k km and that is why I change it at 5km which also keep the warranty intact. earlier my ex ride was on havoline fully synthetic and it would drive the same butter smooth till 10k km.

Kixx and zicc cost around 7k, 3L

On their schedule sheet it says replace every 60k kms for AGS model.
What is your advice on all this, I am thinking of using kixx or zicc, I don't think there's any difference in the grade and type and viscosity is there, everyone does the same don't they.

Also, the actuator hydraulic fluid doesn't necessarily need changing every 60k with gear oil right

This schedule is for OEM Suzuki Ecstar 75w gear oil. For Zic or Kixx, better stick to 40k km change interval.

They are not the same. Zic and Kixx are 75w-85 which is much thicker than 75w (monograde) oil. 75w gear oil is new tech, and it's very advance gear oil, hence they are expensive. If you use Zic or Kixx, the jerks between gear shifts will increase.

Better change it with gear oil. It gets dirty and black with time.

I bought brand new Fortuner GR-S my mileage on odo is 4100km. I want to choose best Synthetic oil for my Fortuner. I'm considering Amsoil Signature Diesel Max Duty 5W-30 it meets all the recommendations but its not available at the moment. Can I go with Shell Ultra 5W-30 as it covers both gasoline & diesel engine? Mobil Delvac 1 is expensive and both liqui moli's models aren't compatible with my Fortuner engine and guess what Toyota dealers are giving pathetic oil some of their representatives told me to pour 15w-40 or if I want Synthetic then they show me 0W-20 I mean what the heck they don't even read their own vehicles manual hahahah. Need your recommendations as i need to change it ASAP.

Looks like you were mostly doing short trips. You should have changed it after 6 months.

For severe conditions, change it after 6 months. For normal conditions, change after a year. Do not exceed these limits.
These limits are for fully synthetic oils. I don't think 10W-40 in Pakistan is fully synthetic. It's either semi synthetic or mineral oil. For semi synthetic, do not exceed 6 months interval. For mineral oil, 3 months.

AOA Everyone,

I have been using Proficar 20/50 viscosity for a while but recently that is not available in the market anymore. The same happened to a brand that I was using before Proficar, I have switched over to Amsoil 20/50 but I have heard that they would be unable in the near future as well.

I tend to change my engine oil no later than 4000KMs and use the highest grade filter. Also - I am driving Toyota Corolla 2011 GLi, Would someone be able to help me out please? I would really appreciate it is someone has used or has a technical knowhow of which brand would be the ideal one.
