Get a compression test done to see the health of the engine. If the compression numbers are good, 5w40 is a good choice. Check your pcv valve, if it's faulty then replace.

I have cg 125 24 model it has 6900 mileage i think except for 3000 service every other time the oil used was normal now i am thinking about pro honda oil and the 3000 also used pro honda oil cuz it was serviced from a different dealership so will changing the have a problem because cold starts were very annoying for my bike

I recently went for an oil change for my RX 3-door Prado 2001 3rz-FE 2.7 (280K+ kms done). I asked the shopkeeper for 5w30. He was surprised and said not to use it and to go for 20w50. I ignored him and went to the mechanic before buying. The mechanic also suggested the same oil grade. However, the manual recommends 0w20 or 5w30.

I have asked friends a similar question; surprisingly, most of them are using 20w50.

Assalamoalaikum. I am planning to change my toyota vitz 2017 CVT transmission oil. I am planning to use kixx cvtf oil. My first question is that kixx is reliable and safe for toyota vitz? And secondly, is cvt calibration necessary after CVT oil change? And if someone is from Hyderabad, Sindh can he please tell me a workshop which does oil change and calibration properly?

Recommended cvt fluid for your car must be cvt fe. Check your cvt fluid filler port nut for confirmation, i guess it's cvt fe. Don't perform such experiments unless until you have a problem where thicker fluid like kixx cvtfe becomes a need. You will end up ruining a perfectly working transmission.

Fyi: CVT fluids of Toyota are blended by ExxonMobil if you have second thoughts.

Go to any good mechanic, drain by opening drain nut and inner filler tube, measure and add same quantity back. Repeat after driving a km if you have extra fluid.

In the end, it's a fluid not an oil so two different things.

Use Toyota not kixx . Whatever you do don’t open the whole transmission pan that desi mechanics do to supposedly “fully clean” the transmission or its filter. Also no need to change if it’s been less than 80k-100k kms on the odo. It’s not meant to be replaced often.

Drain and refill by the filler tube is the safe way If you’re not doing temp checks. Repeat 2-3 times to have it adequately replaced.

I’m hearing of so many cases where people are ruining their CVT transmissions by unnecessarily changing its oil by local mechanics who open the whole pan, clean “filters” and don’t pour back in the proper amount of oil by temperature check. Just another day someone had to replace their entire CVT unit because some ustad messed up the transmission after changing its oil. Kept it underfilled .

There is a compliance mentioned on every manufacturers CVT oil box. check if it complies with Toyota CVT TC and FE. if it does you can use it. i know caltex CVT fluid does comply with Toyota CVT fluid and it can be used and works perfectly fine.

Yes its toyota CVT FE. When I called toyota they were asking 22k for 4 litre box which is quite expensive. In market there are 2 types of toyota CVT FE available, 1 is thailand made which costs about 12k and 1 is Japanese which costs about 14k. I am not sure if market ones are original thats why I was going towards kixx which claims that kixx CVTF is compatible with toyota CVT FE. I asked my mechanic and he recommended me a shop saying that he has original and Toyota adds taxes thats why they sell it so expensive. Can you please tell me if Thailand one available in market is original or repacked in local market?

My car is 95k driven now and I have searched alot and its recommended that CVT fluid should be replaced within 40-60k km range. And since my car crossed 90k km I have been experiencing some jerks specially when I press throttle to gain speed. This jerk was never there and this was the reason I started searching about it.

I have seen videos on youtube of not only Pakistanis but all over the world where they open the pan and drain fluid and replace/clean transmission fluid filters. And they say its necessary to clean filter and remove all particles which are stuck to magnets otherwise this would mess up the transmission and there will be CVT fluid pressure issue. Vitz transmission fluid filter is located inside drain pan. After 95k km it must be clogged. If I don't change it then it won't fluid pressure issue because fluid can't pass through a clogged filter ? I searched on internet and its recommended to change CVT fluid filter with fluid change. Please confirm it so that I can tell my mechanic not to open the pan. You are saying that I should simply drain and fill? And are you 100% sure that this is the correct way?

As another member told me not to open the drain pan and you are also telling me to just drain and fill the fluid. I have seen many Pakistani and other country mechanics videos where they open drain pan and clean its magnets and replace/clean oil filter. Vitz transmission fluid filter is located inside drain pan. Yes my vitz filling nut says CVT FE but toyota was telling me 22k pkr which I thought was quite expensive and I didn't trust the toyota CVT FE available in local market because unfortunately in our country there is very high percentage of repacking scams. This is why I was going towards kixx CVTF which is economical. Thailand made toyota CVT FE is around 12k pkr and japanese made is 14k pkr. Should I buy one of these from local market? If yes, then which one should I buy? Thailand or japanese?

I changed my grande cvt oil at 40000 km 2017 model
I bought a used one and poured kixx cvt from no where it seemed thicker and car is still performing well
But it always best if oem product is chosen

Yes I have seen it. Doesn't seem thicker but may be in composition it is IDK. My main concern is that Toyota CVT FE is very expensive if you buy it from toyota. Other place you can buy it from is local market. Is it safe to buy from local market ? Because too many scams are there. If no, then you are left with no choice other than using a good reputed company fluid like kixx.

Both thai & japan is original. Only difference is origin. That's it.Do not open pan. You don't need any filter change either before 300k kms.
If you want your transmission running then avoid such things, if you're thinking that cvtfe is expensive then keep this in mind that kaabli transmission for your car is above 200k.
Drain, measure and pour back same quantity of the oil that is drained. Viscosity of kixx is on a thicker side.

You have been advised here clearly that whatever you're trying or thinking to perform will kill your transmission.
