Can't go wrong with any global brand like Shell,Mobil1,Castrol, Total, Amsoil, Liquimoly. Only make sure the product is genuine and that you are putting the right recommended viscosity oil as per the manufacturer.
I have personally used all the brands mentioned above, with the exception of Amsoil, while in UAE and they were more or less the same. The price also is similar so don't get scammed if any brand is 2x the price of others.

Also look for Api grade (American Petroleum Institute)
You would be ok with SL TO SP.. don't go for any grade older than SL.

Salam. Looking for OEM spec quantity for Suzuki Alto AGS gear/transmission & AGS actuator oil. Are they 2.4L and 750ml respectively? Can someone confirm?

1. I need a recommendation for the correct engine oil grade for my Nissan Dayz (2018). It has 70,000 km mileage. Currently, I'm using 5W-30 Amsoil, but I have doubts about whether this grade is suitable, especially since summer temperatures can reach up to ~50°C. I think this oil grade might not be ideal for such high temperatures.

1. The recommended oil grade for this car is 0w20. A good quality synthetic oil will offer good protection and resist breakdown in heat. Make sure your cooling system is in good nick and 0w20 is the best choice.
2. Mention your city.
3. Get your suspension checked out. Bushings, balljoints, shocks and cv axles and your power steering rack. Along with brakes.
4. Havoline Coolant is much better than those options. It's been in the market for a long time and has been proven to keep cars cool and is formulated better.

There's a lot of confusion and I wanna aim for longevity. The fuel economy difference is negligible. Which engine oil should I be using in my 2022 GL Manual swift, 5w30 API SP or a 0W20 API SP.

Keep in mind that mostly driving will be in Karachi's harsh heat and stop and go traffic.

Will the 5w30 offer better protection? As I aim to keep this car for long.

0w20 will not offer less protection. Suzuki's 0w20 is made by idemetsu and are well made with good additives. Suzuki's K12 engine is designed for 0w20. It's got the cooling system and the oiling system made specifically for it. 5w30 is not beneficial at all. Also, synthetic oils resist breakdown in heat better than mineral oils so you have nothing to worry about.

I tried finding out about Idemitsu making Suzuki oils, but couldn't find anything, from the research I've conducted API SP 0W20 oil are definitely more fuel efficient but API SP 5w30 such as Motul or the budget friendly total, but 5w30 pao ester based oils offer better wear and tear protection. Is the trade off for 2-3 percent fuel efficiency really worth it? Given the harsh Karachi environment both climate and traffic wise.

Idemetsu makes Suzuki's Ecstar line of oils. It's written on the bottle. 5w30 is written on the owners manual because it's the second best option if your engine is either weak or 0w20 is not available. @Xulfiqar can give you better insight on this.

Thing is, look up what your car manufacturer says the engine needs. 99% Japanese cars are built with tight engine clearances and designed for 0w20 oils for the most part.

So if you use it you will be fine.

However for your own peace of mind - higher HTHS generally gives better wear protection specially if car is driven like maniacs . Not normal driving.

In that case a higher HTHS oil like 5w30 might give you better peace of mind.

5w30 is good enough for wear protection in all applications.. (but so is 0w20 if the engine is designed for it which Japanese are).

Euro spec oils can also go to 5w40 - specifically in high performance German cars driven on autobahn but have to make sure those oils are ACEA rated. Like Motul has a few ACEA rated available locally.

Switch to 5w30 from 5w50. Observe for 1 or 2 oil changes then switch to 0w20. 0w20 is best for 1.6 and 1.8 variants.

ZR engines do not like anything thicker than 10w30. Sludge buildup increases, wear and tear also increases.
