I have old mehran it needs engine overhaul. It reduces 20w50 havoline 1L after 1500kms. This time i have poured delo silver 20w50. I hope it improves the situation a bit.

I guess that’s the reason for so much engine wear at only 250k kms.

For Toyota and Honda engines 250k is nothing provided you use the right oil. Only 5w30! And your engine will do great for 500k kms+ .

Now there’s no point switching to a thinner oil.

Hi guys,

Toyota dealership has been pouring Taglon 5W-50 SN into my 2021 Altis 1.6 AT. Now out of warranty I wish to switch to Havoline 5W-30. Is it okay to switch or should I stick to Taglon 5W-50? The car has been driven for 65k.

yes you can.. toyota is also offering 5w30 in their oil lineup.

Thanks dear for your swift response. Can you kindly suggest if I should also change the transmission fluid? The manual says it is to be replaced at 80k or 48 months, whichever comes first. If yes, which place would you recommend to get the replacement done? Thanks.

go to toyota .. if you are in lahore buy oil from Amir autos... or check the price with them,, as yours is 1.6 it will have T-IV, also written on transmission dip stick.

Check for filter strainer price as well before changing.

Newer toyota's with convential auto gearboxes use WS ATF. It's much better than the old T-IV.

So I just bought toyota Passo Moda 2023 with 6000kms. I am aware i have to stick with 0w20 for a minimum 40k kms.
Can any Professional recommend me Whats the best 0w20 oil available. Also mention the oil change intervals.
Secondly, where can i get oirgnal passo air and oil filter and Should i change them after every 10k kms?
Third, the car is giving v low fuel avg in city with 11-13.I have not tested that On highway. So any passo owner can please guide me about that too.

Havoline 0w20 or motul 8100 ecolite 0w20 are the best available. Change your oil every 4 months or 7500kms. No need to stretch it to 10k km intervals. This engine has a tiny sump.

13 average is excellent. It’s a 1 liter engine and heavy roomy car. Specially if congested traffic. 11 is kinda fine if congested traffic.

Any fully synthetic 0w20 oil from a major manufacturer will do for the entire engine life not just first 40k kms. I have used Shell helix ultra (great oil good price), Havoline without issues. These are locally available easy to find.

And yes only use original oil filters- for your city there would be famous reputable shops for sure that sell these. Change oil at 8000km .

Changing every 4 months is an overkill and not needed. 6 months is fine.

Best oil for rebirth is 0w30 or 5w30. Shift to 5w40 and then 0/5w30.

0w20, 5w20, 0w30 or 5w30. Kia recommends 0w20 but lucky motors use 5w30 in their dealerships.
