5w30 or 0w30. Change every 4-6 months or 7500kms.
Any companies that you would recommend?
Shell Helix Protect V, Caltex Havoline, PSO carient, Liqui moly, Total Quartz, Motul 8100 series etc. If your looking for 0w30, zic and shell offer it locally. The rest like amsoil, liquimoly and mobil1 are imported and expensive.
Total Quartz 9000
a 250,000 km engine should be showing signs of wear nowdo you check engine oil level ? is it reducing oil?what is the current oil being used and drain interval
Yes it kinda is, i’ve been using 20w-50 for years now. Last time I used idemitsu which I dont think went very well. Hence, I turned up over here for recommendations and suggestions:)
try total brand hopefully your drain interval is around 3000kmhope u understand final solution is engine rubuild
I have old mehran it needs engine overhaul. It reduces 20w50 havoline 1L after 1500kms. This time i have poured delo silver 20w50. I hope it improves the situation a bit.
“Been using 20w50”..
I guess that’s the reason for so much engine wear at only 250k kms.
For Toyota and Honda engines 250k is nothing provided you use the right oil. Only 5w30! And your engine will do great for 500k kms+ .
Now there’s no point switching to a thinner oil.
Hi guys,
Toyota dealership has been pouring Taglon 5W-50 SN into my 2021 Altis 1.6 AT. Now out of warranty I wish to switch to Havoline 5W-30. Is it okay to switch or should I stick to Taglon 5W-50? The car has been driven for 65k.
yes you can.. toyota is also offering 5w30 in their oil lineup.
Thanks dear for your swift response. Can you kindly suggest if I should also change the transmission fluid? The manual says it is to be replaced at 80k or 48 months, whichever comes first. If yes, which place would you recommend to get the replacement done? Thanks.
go to toyota .. if you are in lahore buy oil from Amir autos... or check the price with them,, as yours is 1.6 it will have T-IV, also written on transmission dip stick.
Check for filter strainer price as well before changing.
Alright! Can anyone recommend where to get authentic engine oil, transmission oil, parts etc. in Rawalpindi/Islamabad?
Newer toyota's with convential auto gearboxes use WS ATF. It's much better than the old T-IV.
