well 0w20 is used in this engine in North America and other countries .. But i started with 10w30, switched to 5w30 at 80,000km... now was thinking why not try 0w30 or 0w20 from 160,000 km mileage (current)....

Stick to 5w30.No big difference in using 0w20

If you do a lot of short trips, then you will see fuel economy benefit. If most of your drive is on long route, then there's not much difference in fuel economy.

Salaam, I have read few years old posts about correct oil for Suzuki Alto. 2 questions of pakwheelers can help.
1- Have someone managed to realize Suzuki about the grade they are recommending? Have they changed owner manual and dealership allow 0w20 without warray being void?
2- have anyone driven alto on 10w40 throughout since they bought. Any experience how it works? Lots of scepticism that it's a thick oil and not fit for Engine despite Suzuki recommends this. Grateful for your thoughts based on experience

10W-40 is totally wrong grade for 660cc engine. With 10W-40, the engine sound increases, fuel economy and acceleration decreases. Here's the recommendation from Suzuki Japan for R06A engine used in both Alto and Wagon R

You can clearly see the recommendation for R06A (NA) engine is 0W-20 grade. This is the same engine used in Pak Suzuki Alto. The point to ponder is the recommendation for TURBO version of same engine is 5W-30. Remember, the turbo engines produce lot more heat than NA engines. So the question is on what basis Pak Suzuki is recommending 10W-40 even though Suzuki Japan recommends 5W-30 for turbo engine.
