M151 Differential (Hissa) Noise

Guys you need to be clear about one thing. The Differentials on every vehicle are in-sync with the engine & the drive shaft. The Diffs stay good as along as you accelerate & brake smoothly. If you put in a high speed engine, that means that the drive shaft will rotate at a higher speed, but are the diffs equipped for that. Surely enough, the high speed engine will give you that 'pick' intially but at the same time it is also eating up the metals inside the diffs.

What Saqib has in his MUTT is a low speed gear box too, not just an in-out transfer box found originally on the MUTT. His 4x4 has low range ratios too.

hi, m new on pakwheels and need some help about mutt m151 defrential,well after restoration of my mutt on saturday my mechanic handed it to me but the problem is that my defrential is very noisy and my mechanic had said to me that there is no wayout for it,the amount which i spend on it was more than enough but still m not satisfied ,need help from you people if any one could help me regrding my issue.if possible give me a ring at 0321-9235966 if you ve any solution for it.

they can alterate potohar differencil n gearbox

Well changinf to Potohar gear means killig teh power of you MUTT.

I won't recommend that at all

YES, a Mercedes 220 to be specific. Iranian enthusiasts who faced sanctions etc succesfully calibrated the Merc diffs on their MUTTs. Requires very very little alteration to the housing itself.

An old army parts vendor here in Multan, has NOS packed diff set and asking is 33k.

Tell us more about the MB 220 Diff, and how would it fit? Does it have LSD Capability? What are he possibilities of manual differential lockers for MUTT?
I have searched the internet and there is a manual locker available for original diffs (but very expensive).

I Successfully cabliberated the Dirrerentials with the current system.

Details : We opened the rear differential, Took out the whole system Did new mechining, poliching, minimized the grooves distance (Gap) & caliberated with gear .

Sound had reduced to 1/3 rd. Now i'll go for front diff ang gear as well.

I any of you interested in getting it done, i can guide you to the mecanic. Hez in Wah Cantt but soon shifting his Workshop.

Complete rear diff package just 2.5k coz i just experimented on this at fist.
Front & rear Diffs are same so should cost the same

Am going to start on the front one in this week, followed by the gear( But am a bit confusted about restoring this or swapping ) Any ideas ?????

If you can then I suggest replacing the gearbox and 4x4
Gearbox 5 Speed Toyota Gearbox (Rearwheel 1982 Corolla)
4x4 Gearbox from SJ-410. Thats how Janj has them in his mutt, and eventually I will follow suit.
So from what I understand you have increased the tooth ratio on your differential so as to support high RPM. How did you calibrated the gear?

Bro, Not gear but only differentials so far.

Well, 82 corolla gear will for sure fit in but power @ 4X2 will be killed n i do extreme off-reading while hunting therefore will prefer jeep gear Box
