To begin with, where are you located in Karachi ? Are you running on the original gasoline or have converted ?

As for your problem, it really is a big one. You may have noticed that 80% of the owners here face the same issue. Some have resorted to complete through-out of the diffs with putting in other vehicle diffs (slight modifications) while others have gone ahead with changing the diffs, thwice or thrice. Some are lucky with the take out parts available in the market, some not.

Have you drained the oil completely from the diff and put in new one, straight mineral oil. Not just any gear/transmission oil ?

If you have done each and everything. Then here's a try,........ a real desi totka for problematic diffs (suggested to me by a baloch driver who has done nothing but drive in the vast wilderness)

Take two bottles of 'surma powder' & put that in the diff. In the newer world they put graphite powder in long running gears & turbines. You can also stuff bananas in the diff. The problem is that your diff teeth have given way, probably due to corrosion or exessive use of the clutch. The powder does not mix with the oil, but rather goes and sticks itself to the metal eliminating or decreasing the space between them.

TRY IT OUT, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE.

I know people reading this will laugh but i'm saying what people have done & has worked.

If this doesn't work, then I suggest you look to alternative diffs. Mercedes 200 diff is the most favorite of Iranian enthusiasts. Fits with the least bit of alterations.

You can also go with Janj and get the SJ410 diffs in, but I am still to comprehend how a 2400cc transferred to those made for a 1000cc perform. Janj has a low gear installed, maybe that makes a difference.

He has still not explain the complete procedure to us :'(, despite numerous demands. Guess he's busy supplying electric power to the country :S

Nice pictures, please describe;

1) what you have done to the lights ? Are those HIDs or just normal projection lamps. Which vehicle lights have you used ?

2) what have you done to the carburetor and why ?

Imran, they seem to me like standard cobra heads used on CJs. With a slight bit of heat cutting required to reshape the front ones.

one of my friend made these lights in his own factory ,yes ve fixed hid in it.

yaar actually there was no carburetor in may mutt so i fixed 1600cc corolla carburetor.

sarmad what is mineral oil and why not put any gear or transmission oil in the diffs........

can you tell me what is fuel consumption on its original engine.......

Nadir,

All transmission/diff oils has sulphur based additives to perform under extreme pressure i.e EP. The sulphur in the oil eats away the yellow metals found inside old transmissions and differentials. The older ones had the bushing, synchronizers etc made of brass and copper. Sulphur is poison for them and erodes it. Thus nothing close to EP should be used........though many still do and then face problems.

A straight mineral oil "ST" is what you need and that is something that we dont get here anymore. Though WARCO branded transmission oil is considered Mineral grade. What you can do is what I do. I go to these oil dealers and get the 'base oil'. This base oil has nothing mixed in it and is used in machines, turbines, power plants etc etc. There are two types of it (1) Green (2) Gold/Yellow. #2 is considered superior.

Morris lubricants in the UK manufactures oils specifically for vintage cars (ST 90 or ST 140)

I KNOW PEOPLE IN THE US WITH MILEAGE ON THEIR MUTTS RANGING BETWEEN 19-22 MPG i.e. 7-8KMS/LITRE. BUT WITH WHAT HE HAVE (FUEL+AIR+CONDITION OF THE MUTTS) IT SHOULD BE AROUND 5KMS/LITRE

I don't like the seats on my MUTT and have the correct ones in mind, just am not getting the time to change.

As for the representative of AMG, its just the interest I have that keeps me going & sharing. I'm sure there are others out there ............ but what's the use of knowledge without sharing it.

AOA, Sarmad Sb, I have been reading your discussions on MUTT jeeps. Good information is being exchanged on this forum which is quite helpful for new commers. I have not seen pictures of your jeep yet, would love to see them and see the machine physically as well.

I have a M825 as well, have done some work on it, but other wise is in its original condition with its original engine. Inshahallah we will try meet some time and further exchange notes.
