Well, it should work just fine for you in the winters then, no heater needed. This jeep was buil as a recon/fo vehicle, so it needed provide a good line of sight 360, so a concealed cabin was never considered so neither was heat, your best bet would be to seal the dash, or just drive it top down.

hell of heat comes into the cabin from engine bay,u can feel the heat by touching the dash board ,any solution or suggestions are welcomed.really want to get rid of this prob

As for the heated dash, the engine swap could be a reason for it too. Maybe the engine is too close to the fire wall and there's no protection in between.

Agreed, also he's running a diesel, diesels produce twice the heat than a petrol engine.

its fine in winters i think,but in summers its a tandoor. i drive my mutt with doors off and sides too.only the top remains there.im thinking of adding the heat resistant sheet in with fire wall,(as in diesel cars)

was the firewall cut to make some space for the toyota engine?

yup but only for the distributor ,and it was again welded and sealed properly.

Sam's right on this one, the egine is sitcking in the firewall, let alone being close to the firewall, and the exhaust too, you're lucky you are alive and well and not roasted to death...

yar but i was facing same prob with the original engine...u also touch the gear console after operating ur jeep for 30 min or so

I do that all the time, not a biggie.

I had hot air coming thorugh the 4x4 lever and emergency brake vents, i put in a stock boot plate. All good, though it gets hots, so i've developed into keeping my legs straight up all the time.

Yes its safe to get a jacked up wash, why ? are you concerned it might fall off ?? : )

You need heat shields on that firewall and also your exhaust manifold. The engine is too tucked in & the heat generated by it and the manifold is disapating right on the fire wall.
The bell housing of the tranny and floor are known to get hot, thats normal, just dont let any kids sit there with or without shoes.

Its the same, just bigger than the foxy & other german cars ....
When the Mutt comes down from the lift, you might see a negative rear camber, but once you drive the wheels will open up.

Its a very simple design actually, once you actually get under it, you'll know how basic and yet superb it is.

I agree, but considering that all the mechanical and electrical stuff is original, its not so bad but still uncool. Its just the body work and the rims.
