Maintaining UPS/car batteries

there is a common terminal in ups as there is any other circuit. though it is not properly grounded (earth) but as for as i have observed, rarely people bother to earth their appliances.so its common here in Pakistan. has anyone experienced to attach capacitor? or should I share pic of mine?

Zyark your ammeter is rated at 60 amps which i think is ok for 1 kva ups. But it's strange that your charging current is 30 amps. That's too high or yiu meant to say discharging current with load on ups. Take a look at my setup too posted above in the link. My digital panel meter puts a negative sign in discharging state. Also how you managed to attach such big gauge wire on back terminals of your ammeter?can you share pictures of back of your ammeter with wire connections.?

mine ups is 48 V(4 batteries) and 2000W approximately. I m talking about the time when batteries are approximate end the at the time it starts charging, then start from that level but comes to lower value as gets charge.my ups rarely have completely discharges bcz max 2 fans, 2-3 energy savers and a laptop + ocassionally printer is the load. so may be I m recalling it wrongly for the peak current. but as seen in pic, sherry brothers ammeter has gone to the limit, in such case, mostly needle strucks when goes beyond scale. i share foto in a moment

The connectors are called thrimals (may be its actual name or commercial name). As my ups is 48V, its discharging current is not very high so it gives plenty of backup time with 2 fans + lights and laptop

Are tour batteries in a series combination or parallel? As per your configuration your batteries are connected in series. 48V is 12+12+12+12. Secondly your wattage and backup is irrelevant in this case. You didn't mention the Ah or Wh so why are you explaining it to Sherry your backup? His ammeter ain't showing the right reading and there is a problem with that. Let's resolve that first.
Your set up is up and running no doubt. But this poor guy has been onto it since like a week now. His amp meter is not connected right. Something is wrong with it. Let's sort that out.

Bro i want to measure that current which the ups iz providing to batteries during charging.
And mac bhai jub ups on hoa that to be ammeter was showing some cuurent and that was nearly equal to current which was being measured by my clampmeter.

Sherryyyyy.. Cheetay.. Look at where have you clamped your clampmeter and look at where have you attached your ammeter?

Clamp meter Jahan lagaya Hai us wire ko kaar Kay aap ups Wali wire positive pay lagao aur negative terminal ammeter Kay negative Kay sath laga Kay battery Kay positive pay lagao. You will get 13A then. And that would be the current your ups is providing.

Don't attach the ammeter where you have attached it. It's like you are looking at the current inside the battery. Remember yours is a battery bank and not one battery. What you are doing is checking for the current inside the battery bank that is always going to be infinite.
Forget charging discharging. Just do what I said. The reading would be your charging current.

And doesn't matter if his ammeter rating is 30A and yours is 60A. He needs to measure current less than 30A anyways.

Clamp meter ki jagah lagao apna ammeter. Before the battery fries your ammeter.

yaar agr apka ups 24V ka hai to dono batteries k darmian ammeter lga dein r agr 12V (single battery wala) to ups se battery ki trf aane wali ek wire cut krke cut kie hue 2 dono siro k beech ammeter lga dein. it will be good to go

by the way, 24V wala ups charging process mein 30A exceed kr skta hai jb batteries ziada discharge hon gi. if, after some time of charging, meter reading comes to lower value, then its ok

I am defying your bech wala setup because he had already done it and it ain't working for one reason or the other.

Do you mean the current inside the source is equal to the current in the series circuit? That's what you mean by this statement. I agree with your diagram. What you are doing here is installing ammeter inside the battery as a matter of fact when you install it between the batteries.
Chalo. Try it. Will see where it goes.
But I don't believe that the current inside the source is equal to the current in the circuit. Reason is that the potential difference inside the source is equal. Except for the far terminals. In this case the far terminals are aik battery ka positive aur dusri ka negative.

Guys I need help, I have load shedding with pattern such as 1 hour of load shedding at 6am-7am 11am-12pm then 1pm-2pm then 5pm- 6pm and then 11pm-12am

I need to setup UPS in my house such that I can survive this 1 hour load shedding 5 to 6 times a day. I need a pure sine wave UPS and I need to run 1 fridge, 3 fans and 3 savers. Is a 2kva ups with 200amp truck battery fine?

Also recommend me brands for pure sine wave? Aurora? Prodigy are the 2 brands I have seen on internet, homage pure sine wave starts from 4 KVA and is very expensive. Please give me suggestions.
