if you mean by wet cell batteries as preparing the electrolyte, then it can be done provided you already have
stocked de-ionized water in home and if you mean the charging device then your ups is your charging device which should be tuned.

its a good idea to buy electrolyte from pryo chemicals and tell them the reason you are buying form them is your assumption that they are preparing the electrolyte using de-ioninzed water. i have checked a sample of their de-ionized water and it showed a good value of 30 tds.

is pyro selling electrolyte aswell?,how much is needed for a 135-155 amp battery (for a brand new initialy dry one)

Dear Talha, I went to service center of CyberPower and they replaced the circuit 1 week back because inverter failed to stop charging at 10 ampere charging current. I have following observations today:
I used UPS (720 Watts/ 1200VA with Phoenix UGS 175 battery with AH of 130-135) for 1 hour with a load of only 1 ceiling fan and 2 energy savors.
Subsequently UPS started charging at 10 amperes and I checked charging current using multimeter. It started charging at 7.5 amperes and continued it for 25 minutes. In next 5 minutes charging current slowly dropped to 6 amperes and it further reduced to 3 amperes in next 15 minutes. In next 15 minutes charging current progressively decreased to 1.5 amperes. Afterwards charging continued between 1.5 to 1.0 amperes for 20 minutes and in next 10 minutes it slowly dropped to 0.5 amperes, at that time UPS fan stopped and LCD showed full charging. However, reading slowly dropped from .5 ampere to .06 amperes in next 45 minutes and subsequently remained fixed at .06 A and during all this time UPS was completely silent with no fan moving and LCD showing full charge. Was UPS in charging state during these 45 minutes?
Interesting thing was that reading remained the same even when I switched to 20 amperes charging current. I guess this new circuit is charging only at 10 ampere current because reading never went beyond 7.5 amperes even when I switched to 20 amperes option 2 minutes after the start of charging, observed for 2 minutes and reverted back to 10 A option after finding no change in reading. What is your opinion?
Charging continued for about 90 minutes. Is this time adequate or faster than expected for 10 A charging current? Battery was fully charged when I used it for 1 hour for backup for 1 fan and 2 energy savors.
I checked specific gravity after full charge. It was 1230 in each cell. Is it OK?

your are quoting me the charging rates
but what you never bothered to check was the voltages at battery terminals during instance once charging rate slowed down. if your ups cpu has already monitored the correct charging rate on battery terminals then new settings wont take in effect till the time you dont restart the ups or ups is not put into the backup mode. 90 min is a good enough time to charge the batteries on 10 amperes option, what you dont know here is as how much were your batteries discharged. every things seems like ok, but remember i cant comment on things once you dont provide results in terms of two variables that is charging rates and voltages on battery terminal at those instances.

i think, they sell it in 30 liters pack, you can use some and store remaining if ever you need it again.

Anyone tested TDS value of Split AC drain water? I don't have Meter to check it on my end

i have done it, meter showed error, which means results were out of range(1000+) because air conditioning water collects a lot of dirt once it makes it way through dirty pan from inside to outside.

How do you check the charging amperage on the battery? Like connect the Ammeter in series? The UPS charging cables are very think, but my multimeter has comparatively thin leads.....will it damage the wires?

Also, how about using a maintenance free battery for UPS?

for checking the amperage of batteries u hv to hv a CLAMP METER ...digital meters r used for voltages purpose only ... thin leads are called PROBES .. the are used for checking the voltages of batteries n wapda ... if u r using good puresine wave ups then yes VRLA batteries ll be a good choice ...

Yes, you can connect two 24 Volts battery system in parallel with each other, advantage would be a longer backup time and you would be able to utilize your ups to its full capacity.

Simple explanation, Your ups is not pure sine wave which is why the fans make weird noises. It may also not support sensitive electronic equipment. Its cheaper but not electronic goods friendly.

True. However with newer PSUs with an Active PFC of 0.8 or 0.9 need a pure sine wave UPS to be on the safe side as I had to forcefully get myself a pure sine wave Emerson Liebert UPS. Using a modified/stepped sine wave UPS did not power up my PSU.

Apparently all equipments don't need pure sine wave however it is preferred if that is used with sensitive electronics.

Mine are around 5-6yrs old unit, never got a chance to test on my new ac unit. Btw i buy distilled water from I-9 islamabad and their tds is 0 always.

All need pure sinewave but some electrical appliances can run on modified sinewave aswell with minimum to no damage. But Pure sine wave is always preferred
