Why don?t you just increase the charging rate as you know your issue? 8Amperes for N130 will e ok.

A lot depends upon quality of electrolyte and tuning of UPS. If UPS grade batteries are available then try to buy those. N130 definitely won?t you a good backup time due to limited capacity.

I've purchased the Uni-T clamp multi-meter and a hydrometer as you had suggested, so how can I check the current charging rate and cutoff voltage of my current setup???

Also please advise what should be the batteries voltages during charging and when fully charged ( both individual batteries and batteries in series ). From what I've read a healthy battery should be 12-12.6 V individually and 24+ V in series, am I right???

Which are the UPS grade batteries bro???
My maximum requirements during loadsheddings are 3 ceiling fans, 1 small sidewall fan, 1 regular size TV, PTCL internet modem+router, 2 tube lights and 2 energy savers, usually we turn off some of these things. So which brand of batteries and size would you recommend which would give us atleast 2 hours backup time and peace of mind for a few seasons.

If SG is optimal then fill battery up to max level with electrolyte. If SG is higher than optimal, then top up with distilled water, until SG is optimal.

Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm planning to replace the tap water based electrolyte from my batteries as well because my batteries are giving reduced backup times. So should I flush 4-5 times with tap water before pouring in new electrolyte or just drain after fully charged and pour new in???

^Because the battery is just 6 months old, there is no need to flush it, although there is no harm in doing it.

If the battery is relatively new then there is no need to flush. If it is more than an year old, then a flush is recommended.

Using Ags NS 165 never used tap water to top up always used AGS distilled water easily available from market costing per bottle Rs. 60 of 1 liter......

UPS is desi made and the ups guy know pretty well abt charging rate for batteries as well as the kits for ups ....

didnt use electrolyte by me self i just purchased the batteries from AGS dealer he him self prepared the electrolyte and the backup time i m getting for 1 hour at least as i havent faced any longer load shedding in lahore not more than 1 hour..... So till not load is 1 LED, 2 fans or may be 3 some times other than 6 to 7 energy savers........ My ups is 1200 watts with 2 batteries

AGS is better then all available brands in market, they are expensive but worth it ! Even with tap water electrolyte they last longer.
Phoenix UGS are also going good so far ....
my expereience .... dont buy EXCIDE .... they are worst from past 1.5 years .... even shop keepers are not having excide like they used to have in past .....

Are they using proper distilled water for preparation of electrolyte or the electrolyte is prepared with tap water as is done in local shops. If that is the case then first thing to be done when u get a new car would be to replace the electrolyte.

But the only problem is that it drops down the voltage down when i switced on the fan or led. The Output Voltage drop down from 230v to 200v-180v. My question is how i should fix dow the voltage to 230volts?

My UPS is 1000watts and battery is exide 190amp.

Output voltage under load requires tuning and it should be maximum 250 Volts. I have explained the procedure number of times in thread so you will have to explore the thread. In most local UPS systems, it Is tuned by “Fix Volt” variable on UPS board. If you want your computers, Mobile Adopters, Wifi-routers to be safe under load shedding then this tuning is very important.

Good question, only company knows what they are doing and they will not disclose that information to you. Since, we have no check and balance on quality so it will be wise if you can replace it immediately provided you have good electrolyte already present with you.

why do you want to replace the electrolyte, it is not done blindly. you have to look into its merits before doing so and if a cell is already dead then that wont do you any good. Judge for your own self with some understanding as mentioned in main thread then go for it.

Thanks for this great information. Here is my experience in this regard.

last time i bought osaka batteries from Metro in promotion cheaper than market, and through a friend i got a chance to of filling electrolyte prepared with distilled water. My that batteries worked perfectly for 2.5 years (i.e. 2 complete summer seasons). at the same time i needed one more and i bought it from a shop who filled electrolyte in it but it worked only for 10-12 months.

My current batteries that i bought in May are also filled with tap water's electrolyte and i have started getting problem.
Now i got the reason, that they use tap water to make electrolyte which significantly reduces battery life.
