Being the admin i suggest u not let ppl high jack this thread. i think u know what i am talking about since u were into modifications and u know what i mean to say.....U are probably the only person i know who understands cars fully and that y we have long discussions when we meet up in real....

....it was a simple post ( by someone not even me ) about my car so i had to get involved. U know me well and u also know that i work on my car and as a tuner and driver i have to test out the car somewhere....driving a 800 hp car is a quick way to go to jail ( i know that) but since there are no tracks here i have to test it somewhere. I mean importing lacs of RS of parts and then looking at them makes no sense to me. they have to be installed and tested and the only way is to test it on the street (where u feel chances that u get into an accident are minimum i.e. 7th ave)...so try telling this to raja sahab....

to me its a sport i love ..and just like u i have a passion for high powered cars. not because they scare off ppl...NO...because its in your blood.

and on a finishing note let me make it clear that I respect every car out there as to me they are living machines who have a heart and soul and need to be cared for. I try to help everyone out there who are having problems with their cars..so its a hobby for me...it does not matter if its a suzuki or a SLR ........they both are equal in my eyes ....

I think we have touched on this exaust issue previously here as well....but i will give in my bit again...

I think there are two different issues here....

For exaust issue I have to agree with wat Mr. Majid has already illustrated. The rule here to have no exaust at all is ABSURD, The most advanced countries in the world who have 1000 times healthier enviroment and noise pollution then ours allow you to have exausts in their cars, I mean yes there is certain allowed sound decible limit of the exausts that you can install in ur car but all of these performence cars here are in that limit.
So if the ITP or the Health departments think that its increasing noise pollution they should get a guide of set of rules from those advance countries and buy those equipments and apply that here.

Its not a fault of ppl like majid or hpr guys or many other car enthusiats that our govenment lack those rules or dont have that equipment which will keep things in check.

Bottom Line: The rule of having no exausts at all is just beyond my comprehension, somebody actually needs to take this media to let these morons understand

The second issue of speeding on streets. This is something that is just plain wrong and cannot be allowed and hence is a problem all over the world, however again the governing boadies need to equip themselves according to the international standards so that they can implent such rules. ITP should stop mourning about the fact that they cant catch these big cars hence they will just stampede them when they see them static at a traffic light.
Get those cameras installed everywhere, its not a big deal, snap these guys exceeding the speed limit and put bans on their liscences as it is done internationally. They should have point system in their liscences and eventually if a person would be caught speeding again his/hers liscence would be cancelled.

I hope some one responsible from the government can understand this and apply rules which keeps everything in check and also lets these entusiasts live their lives.

P.S: Just before some1 makes a stupid comment, I have lived in Australia for three years so I know what i am talking about.

I'm not pointing at anyone particularly. Just saying generally. If there are no race tracks in Pakistan then it doesn't allow us to start driving ferociously on public roads.

In Lahore a sad incident happened when an infant was killed by a person driving porsche. Could he say that I was speeding on public road because of no race track thats why I'm not guilty of the murder of an infant? ^o)

Driver may be sensible enough but his car may not be at high speeds or those drivers who own super cars (alto, cultus, mehran etc) whiling mimicking.

Increasing number of communities in the US are restricting the use of loud exhausts. Some are going as far as installing automated noise detection equipment to enforce their noise ordinances similar to photo radar. I can foresee a time when loud exhausts, so popular amongst mod community, would get restricted to tracks only.

Majid, as annonpak and wik_a mentioned earlier; justifying an illegal act by any means is not a responsible behavior at all. Street racing is illegal. Period.
