Okay Brothers...I think all the explaination has been done except reaching the top at the end...So here it comes :
First thing what I believe is that trekking is something different than a race, so one should not go beyond his physical limits to be the first one at some particular point...The main objective is to accomplish the task no matter how long it takes..You just have to be determined and consistant.
There were a few other reasons aswell which caused me a bit late to reach the destination and I think I should share it now since Rashid Bhai has created much more suspence earlier in the thread
AT about 1 Km after the start point of the trek, There comes this big water tank ( Pic Below ) and a cabin beside it which you have seen in the thread earlier. Our team leader forgot to bring Chapatis from dunga gali for dinner so he asked a local at that point to bring the chapatis and he agreed..So Osama And Zulfiqar decided to stay there and wait for him and asked me to proceed with the other two guys..The rest of the team was already gone ahead.
The two guys continued the trek with me..Osama , the team leader directed me to stay with the guys in any case as one of the guys Rizwan ( Right side in the pic below) was already having trouble since the start of the trek. I gave him my trekking stick since he didn't have one so he could trek with some ease.
We moved slowly upwards but Rizwan was taking a break after every few steps since the pain in his knee was increasing with each step.. Umer and me kept backing him up till we reached the first rest point. Now Rizwan was very much exhausted and simply refused to continue the trek. Umer and I tried to convince him a lot and gave him some pain killers and energy tabs but nothing worked
The efforts for convincing him continued for about half an hour and than it was decided that I will move ahead and let them know by phone if the top is somewhere near... So I left them at the place and started alone...After a few turns the trek started to be very steep and harder to climb...So after about 15 mins of trekking I got the mobile signals at some point, called them and advised them to return back to Dunga gali before its too late and gets dark. I think I made the right decision for them since the trek ahead was much very much narrower and steeper comapring to the one they have already covered with much trouble.
I continued the trek and the path became very narrow at some points with very steep slopes on your right side as you have already seen in some earlier pages in this thread.
To be Continued :)
