Mark II 1976 project

Just bought Mark 2. Always wanted it. Condition is normal. 2 litre deiesel engine at almost 60% capacity.

After initial restoration and tweaks, i am thinking of:

• old style dash board.
• Race seats
• 2jz engine and gear box
• 3" outside fenders
• a little bit lower and wide tyres.

This is going to be a tough job but lets hope that i pull it through. Any help, suggestions and words of advice will be highly welcome and appreciated.

Don't want to discourage you but the ride should be kept as Original as possible, it will increase

1. Resale Value
2. The Looks
3. Ride Quality
4. Longetivity

this is not a Supra and you will probably ruin it and waste all that money too

i did a 2jz swap with w58 gearbox in my mark 2 1975 front suspension kept it original replaced with oem parts rear suspension tube was replaced with of 95 surf shocks were used of 95 crown front and back springs were kabuli lowerings of 82 corolla engine mounts were custom made firewall taken couple of inches back for better balance wiring was of 95 mark 2 hope this helps make sure u get a good guy for engine swapping otherwise no fun

No brother. No problems there. I agree with you regarding the original condition.

The engine thing is going to be the last thing. Restoration is the main part. I want to keep it as original as i can but original parts are a rarity. I have been trying to find the original dashboard but it has been a cold lead everywhere so far. Last owner had put a 2D corolla dashboard, which looks hideous.

For the time being, i am only concentrating on the rust removal and body work.

Get rid of the rims and try to find the fender mirrors that the car came with, rest looks fine, all the mods eis ka Shock us ke springs will not make this ride FUN but aap ke leeye azaab bun jayee ga kyoon sara balance out ho jayee ga, mechanics to aap ko kahen ge ye yeh engine daal lo woh kar lo lekin in the end aap ne sub kuch balance kar ke ride tayyar karnee hai, If you want to go crazy with mods better car will be "ANDA" charade "2 door" version... Rest is up to you and also depends what you age is kyoon ke fast and the furious ka asar different age groups pe different hota hai

I am 40 and if there was any vin diesel in me, it drifted away with my long gone hair.

Totally agree with mirrors and no crazy mods as of yet. I had put an idea to test and for the the time being, i plan to just restore the car only.
