True that JBL has got the biggest RND and the best equipment in the industry. I was looking at the JBL 660GTi manual and they did tell a short story of what sort of technology and RnD is involved when they are making some speakers.

after looking at specs a newbie like me feels that it is going to be an SPL heaven, let c how a SQ guru tames them to his taste.
I wish I could demo the system during my next visit of Lahore

Sir a little correction, W12GTi sub along with subs like JLW6, 33kx are by design are SQ subs... BUT they are capable of handling very high RMS therefore they do get loud....!! These are not SPL subs by design

Took me quite a while, some hard work with precision measurements (since its metal not wood) to make these aluminum adapters.

Yes there are many reasons to it, just posting two main reasons. 1. you already mentioned. 2. Strong baffle = less acoustic energy loss and less mechanical energy / vibration transferred to the doors. If you use your imagination you will find multiple benefits within the two reasons i mentioned

Did i feel or hear any difference ? yes day n night. Midbass is now punchy and stronger than before. Even the midrange frequencies are much more focused and clear.
