after checking the specs on 300g, i came to know that stock rim size is 16, now im confused as all 300gs i have seen till date, came with 18inch rims as the above design.. :S

Like all other cars, mark x offers couple of rim sizes and designs...one is the 16inch you're talking about, and the other is this 18inch.

yes nomicool is right, mark x comes in 2 rim and tyres sizes, if u open the driver door u can read the tyres sizes, although every thing is written in japanese but tyre sizes in numbers can b read, 215-60-R16 and 225-45-R18 for four tyres and 155-70-D17 for stupny, when i bought mine it was installed with 17 size after market rims, so m not sure it originally came with 16 or 18. Now after buying i think as my car is 3.0 G Premium so it must originally comes in 18, but anyhow i m now happy with my rim and tyres and like my rims more than original 18 rims ( sorry to nimicool )

also i like 18inch more than stock 16inch :P...........btw guys m facing battery prob n every couple of day i ve to jump start my markx although i dont take it out everyday so now the battery is weak also i noticed its osaka i think Pakistani battery n the size is 48ah which is smaller than the actual size of battery holder...so wat the actual size of mark x battery n which brand shud i go for n m thinking maintenance free battery wud be better than regular one

T-4 fluid can be used where WS is pecified, but with much more frequent change intervals. T-4 is semi-sythentic whereas WS is fully synthetic...

You should check out the thread on Car/UPS battery maintenance. I started maintaining my batteries after learning from there.

Although the car is equipped with traction control and snow mode but still some people says rear wheel cars dont perform good in snow. If any one has taken rear wheel car ( not 4x4 ) or mark x to snowy area pl share his experience.

Befikar ho ke jayen janab. that myth is about old cars with converted diesel engines. A stock setup RWD maintained properly is excellent for snow and hilly areas.

my cousin in Norway has 2006 Merc S class, rear wheel, he complains that in snow all small and big FWD cars get out of snow easily and his S class slips

well i obviously like the 18inch rims too.. but after my chachus experience with them on his 250g... they arent the smartest idea.. especially if your car is a daily runner... our roads will literally bend those rims in the longrun so much that, it wud start to effect ur suspnsion... he is running on 16s now stock size, but the 16 rims of mark x is quite expensive. so he has some taiwan ones on it nw...

and abt snow... nothing is better then AWD in snow...
i had an s class back in the states, and i dont recall any problems in the snow.. my accord (fwd) got stuck quite a few times... s class never did.. i guess it was because of the amount of power in the benz. that it can get out of any type of situation.

@salik: Well, I have always used dry cell (maintenance free) batteries in the vehicles I have owned. They never give you trouble. You dont need to put any water in them. When they get weak, simply replace them. I will check the battery's brand and 'ah' I have in my mark x, and post it here later.

@asad: I dont think so you should have any problem if you use 'SNOW' mode...thats what its there for...it limits the torque of the vehicle and disengages the first gear...so even from a dead stop, your car will start in 2nd gear...that means the car wont skid.

Use the manual transmission mode on the hills along with SNOW, and you should be fine.

@asad: yea use snow mode n check ur tire pressure too but i remember i skid on the rainy day even on snow mode tht coz i pressed full accelerator from dead stop so try to accelerate less btw u got traction control too which most markx doesnt have this option...so no worry about skidding
