can anyone confirm how accurate level is to be ensured. we did it the old fashion way by opening the upper nut and when oil came out of it, we stopped filling it.

it is mentioned int he manual

It has the Same engine and Transmission as Lexus IS.6 speed auto with v6 2.5litre.

I have all RWD's in th stable at the moment but u know how i drive

Dexter's help is like Milk with poop (goes well in punjabi "doodh naal mengnaan")

He opened up the transmission mnual once we were done with oil top up, and he never sent it to me earlier.

Was getting horrible dreams about transmission geting busted so i went to Toyota Capital I-9, they had ATF WS as required and they did the change almost the way it is mentioned in Ghuncha manual. Costed Rs. 13900/-

It had done 75k kms which is equal to 46,875 Miles

Scary wiring for 18 solenoids inside the tranny. It will be a horror story if something goes wrong

Costs 3650 for 4 Liters

After cleaning and refitting the oil pan, they poured 4 liters of ATF and let it circulate with engine start and selecting all gears one by one, ALso they made a wire connector to short the designated connectors on OBD port to get ATF temperature light. I was scared and was concentrating hard to make sure they connect the right points, so was not able to take pictures

That went well, and afterwards they drained that oil and put in new ATF, around 4 liters. Level was checked again after some idling and gear changes. It was fine and JOB was declared DONE

The car is now formally commissioned for use, as my Brother in law is back from Abud Dhabi. HIs initial impressins are good, some niggles of small squeaking noises from driving door and one of the projector lamp not working and thats it, Will check on weekend again about the two issues.

Around 3 liters came out and around 4 liters went in after all the procedure.

On the chamber there are two nuts, One in middle is for level check and one on side other is for drain. if u open the drain, around 4 liters should come out

i need ur cell no. I have recently bought mark x 3g Premium, just changed its mobiloil, oil filter, coolant and air filter, need to change other things/ oils also, although milleage on odo says 40k but not sure, they can b easily reversed. So i need ur cell no for some discussion

you did put in a new filter right? and how come the pan has no magnets in it. It should have atleast one. Helps a lot.

about draining everything - you can use the oil cooler lines to flush the transmission completely. thats why I love the mercedes design - they have a drain on their torque convertor - open it up and you have more fluid in it than you had drained from the pan.
