well, my opinion re: the DZire is this...what Maruti has done is %^&*ed up a funky looking hatch into a 'mom-and-pop' sedan...but, that's exactly what they wanted to do....and the middle class is their target market here....something solid and reliable that can haul a** and groceries/luggage at a reasonable cost...the front still looks funky....till you start looking at the sides and rear...the car will sell well...anything will sell pretty good in india nowadays...rising incomes and more jobs...it is becoming like the west over here...college students work part time in McDonalds, Pizza HUt and other local fast food joint call centers (they do door delivery too!) and earn 5000-6000 a month pocket money..and that's for approx. 2 to3 hours a day max!...so be...i wouldn't buy this car...but a lot of people will...the monthly on average will run about 8000-9000 with 10% down...any middle income family can afford it easily...Maruti-Suzuki will continue to make more money...and that's how it goes..
this was the base for the sedan!!...how could they?....
