Hahahahahahahahaha yes the garnish is intact & surprisingly the rear lamp covers & badges are intact too, with an additional quality of being functional

At first i could not believe that all of these things would be functional with their switches. But what i found out was that each n every switch including headlights, wipers, wiper washer & indicators are functional

I own a corolla 76, even that has these rust issues. This is very common & acceptable for the age.

I see the same in my Mazda 929. I'm considering of getting rid of these rust pits in the front & rear wheel arches but thinking to wait a little & make an action plan for the things to do & parts to source in order to get the things right & not messing them any further

Its highly unfortunate of having such beauties & not recognizing their true worth. I mean finding a Mazda 929 coupe is so difficult in this era but seeing one spoilt in this manner is really an offence

I guess the main issue with these cars is that these were not recognized as vintage & classic instead as cheap options in daily runners or taxis. So these were left to rot & die at the hands of some serious killers.

The Rotary Reunion of these beauties was an ultimate event. I saw the pictures & it was a mega event with hundreds of Mazda's seen roaring around

Must say you are in luck, finding a vehicle with all the switches in order and they have not been altered with the after market stuff. These old switches are far more reliable then the ones that are put in to modern cars and last lifetime. I hope that the key and ignition switch is original as well. The keys and the ignition switch are a weak point for these cars. They are usually ruined by ordinary lockmasters who have no experience of these cars,

The bug eye version 323 was the first ever Mazda 323 to be launched in 1977, it was face lifted with the rectangular lights in 1979. These 323s have the same wheel base as the older Mazda 808s.

Hahahahahahahahaha yes i kept finding 929 for long long time

Found some running condition 929s & some almost dead. At some times I became very double minded & thought of buying a dead one & building it up, but due to the parts issue i kept away from them rather I would say not parts but complete assy like dashborad & stuff which I guess was a cumbersome job in terms of completing the things in original specifications.

I really fought hard to find this one

Before this I found this one, there was a car in red color that was also one of the finest I've seen nowadays. The red one was Lahore number & somebody bought it in Islamabad & brought it to Lahore. Maybe I'll try to search who's car is that & we can ask him for a meet as well. That red Mazda is Ultimate!!!

Yup you are absolutely right as this is the weak point of my Mazda as well.

The original key was lost by the owner & the ignition switch seems a lil loose so this thing is pretty messed up though working fine at the moment but it has been tested at the hands of the butcher lock masters

I'll try to source a complete set of original lock set along with the keys

Try if you can eye on some original set that will be a great help

I felt that the rectangular version might be a face lift to the bug eye.

It's a great car, my uncle's neighbor used to have 323 in the same color as yours in Iqbal Town (Neelum Block) Lahore.

The car was very strong, don't remember the engine n stuff but I loved the roar at that time

I didn't know the 323 has the same wheelbase, that's nice. It has a lot of space, i know, even the luggage space is immense

I know the energy & time required is unbelievable. The project of bringing these cars to this state requires untiring efforts. Even maintaining them in this state is hell of a job, as it requires extra care & extreme cautiousness
