I wanted to ask you what does til Oil pump adapter consist of? Im wondering if this is something i can get made locally from Machine shops who make wheel spacers etc. Do you think it can be done?

I've been looking to install this for a long time it will definately help increasing the engine life and i can run synthetic oil after installing the adapter.

the crankshaft position sensor or ecc shaft position sensor in your case sets the base timing on which the ECU sees the engine position and determines what injectors and what coils to fire.

just like in any EFI car - you lose the CKP sensor - you lose complete engine function.

if you can find a fine machinist then he can probably make it for you, you would need a piece of aluminium billet and then machine it down to be the same as the oil metering pump intake shape. You would also need to make an adapter that can connect the tongue of the position sensor to the engine a nipple and milled hole to make sure the pump can intake the 2 stroke oil.

a good marine 2 stroke ashless is worlds better in burning in engines compared to regular engine oil.

with this mod you are also set to run synthetic oil in the engine to cool it down..

Yes i understand that the shaft has to fit in a spline on the adapter shaft , but is this a part that will rotate quickly?

What i dont understand is where will the shaft connect on the engine side where the rubber seal is and the purpose of this shaft.

And where on the adapter does the 2 stroke flow out ?

Less room for error if i know how everything functions when it comes to installing it and getting it made. Ive been told that in winter the 2 stroke from the resevoir wont flow properly?

the two strange shaped holes you see are the intake ports of the engine oil, the outlets are the banjo unions on the pump. The shaft you see is the mechanical input to the run the pump.

the stepper motor is the sort of "varying" input that makes the oil metering low or high.

What this adapter does is block the engine oil intake to the pump and provides a nipple for the pump to intake a clean 2 stroke oil and push it into the manifold/engine.

the low temperature problem you read about is extreme winter where oil becomes gel. I beleive you wont face that where you live. If you do face that then find a synthetic base 2 stroke oil. They are expensive but do exist.

Would this be correct so far? This will just pump 2 stroke oil through the oil injector wont get rid of premixing. Still need to premix in addition to the adapter just to be safe. Ive used this 2 stroke oil recently but now im not sure if that is mixing oil or engine oil check the link for picture of the bottle.

the oil you show is acceptable, however it sometimes is sold as refilled thinned out motor oil - beware of such products. The arrows you show of the oil flow are correct. it blocks the engine oil intake to the pump and feeds on the 2 stroke oil that is being gravity fed into the nipple.

the rotary engine has apex seals on its rotor edges which require oil for lubrication, they are the equivalent of piston rings - as there is absolutely no engine oil present near the outside rotor faces - it requires that the oil be pulled in via the fuel charge. Engine oil that is used in the sump is not the best of lubes to burn. 2 stroke is formulated to the burnt cleanly. Thats why we need 2 stroke oil in the fuel.

plain water is harmful in any engine - it causes severe corrossion issues as well as thermal stability problems and low and high temperature climates.

Adapter is working nicely but i was thinking that the Pso 2 stroke oil is sh*t as i have seen other rotaries fail because of using it.

So i looked for an alternative and found a red color oil by the brand Petromarks / Petlubes (Petromark......products) Please check the link as the ash ratings etc are listed there.

I think this will work much better as idemitsu is the same color and this one is ISO 9002 certified and has a much lower Ash rating.

BUT i need to find the real thing , the bottle i bought was 1l but the label was oddly placed , ill post a picture so you can see.

this petlubes oil has been dodgy to me in all honesty (some bottles literally smelled like kerosene). The PSO 2 stroke oil was pretty good when I was in Pakistan (it used to be an ugly green colour and smelled bad). The best 2 stroke oil I used was sold under the ZIC brand (it was an ink blue colour) but it was when ZIC was fresh launched in Pakistan. The other was sold by the Emarat distributor in 1L and 4L packing - I used them in my 2 stroke motorcycle oil feed tank without issues for the better part of 6 years.

I also used them in rotary engine fuel tanks as premix.

when I removed the exhaust header flange on my motorcycle after a couple of years in service it was clean and brownish - not oily. Just the way it should be. The rotaries also never had issues with those oils.

p.s. maybe the petlubes I got was not the real thing or they must have improved. There were 3 or 4 such oil brands. One was kenlubes too

Then i need to find the Emarat bottles need to look for it as ive never seen it on the shelf.

Ive mixed about 100ml of that petlube oil to a full tank of hi octane , its has not caused any serious issues yet , the acceleration is fine and it pulls away nicely.

There are 2 issues , when the car is dead cold , sometimes it starts up fine and the cold start process starts (3k-2.5k rpm) but sometimes it wont start from cold unless i help it a little bit by pressing the gas. What could this be?

And there is a slight ( 1sek-ish) power delivery delay at cirka 4000 revs when accelerating in any gear

It sort of cuts off for 1 second , its not alot but enough to notice

Could it be a clogged cat?

if you were in Karachi I would have guided you exactly where to buy truckloads of this oil, dont know about lahore - sorry about that.

It has only done 45000km , i read on another thread that the sohn adapter is another way to ruin the engine as people have reported that the side oil tank is at the same level even after 1000kms which means there has been no oil going to the combustion chamber at all. They state that dirt or other particles go into the 2 stroke oil , clogging the oil injectors.

The omp injects hot pressurized oil , the 2 stroke going through the sohn is cold and thick

Should i remove it , run normal mineral engine oil and just premix on the side?

The exhaust definately smells like any other two stroke right now

the cold and thick oil is only a problem in very cold weather - you can use full synthetic two stroke oil to combat that problem. Have you measured the oil usage yet?

If your exhaust smells like a ricksha then its too rich with oil or the oil is bad, The oils I used did not smell like ricksha or vespas but more like a hot engine.

Yes i believe it has a little more oil than needed , but i did that just to be safe because i like driving it at high rpms when everything is heated up , atleast its getting proper lubrication. The Sohn still doesnt solve the oil problem. In the new motor there were 3 oil injectors as the old one was missing on in the center therefore the lack of lubrication.

So i am premixing aswell in addition to the sohn so that probably why it smells like two stroke.

And yes the oil level inside the resevoir is dropping , not as much as i hoped why i am a bit concerned.

But to be honest i dont trust the new adapter as much as the old omp. And since i can find any amsoil pro or idemitsu here , not even that i dont even think there is any place who sell real products anymore.

The motor is working fine at the moment , it has some minor issues but nothing that spoils the overall driveability. If the motor fails one bad day i wont be replacing it with a rotary again thats for sure

the oil level will drop very slowly, its not going to get sucked in quick - only a drop of oil is used even in 2 strokes. I would recommend you find a proper 2 stroke oil - have you got any freinds in Karachi?
