I can give you one advice - to be sucessful in a business you need to know how many degrees there are to get from its A to B.
Hiring a pharmacist or a chem engineer would not cut the mustard as you would be relying on someone else to relay information to you that you do not comprehend. e.g. I ran a workshop and I knew exactly what happens when an old beat up car comes in for suspension work, all it takes is one rusted bolt and the time bill goes from green to red if you lack specialty tools and experience.
same with a drug store, but I can tell you that a supply business is only as good as your inventory management, I know a pharmacy in Karachi which is run by a disabled guy in a wheelchair who is a pharmacist but his sons are on the counter, his entire inventory is coded and in a small database all marked like an industrial warehouse, never saw him complaining of lost business or anything.
Speaking of inventory Ive been into project management and large scale rollouts and deployments, inventory control is paramount in determining how much goes to the bank.
