Congrats on getting New Corolla Booked ..
Xli , is a really nice car overall yes it lacks some really basic and much needed features but still its a corolla and has many plus points ..
Main differences between xli n gli are
Power windows ( can be installed easily for 16 k aftermarket )
Central door locking ( can be installed even in case of gli you have to get remote / keyless system for the car so during the process of installation you can easily get central door lock motor installed for 2 to 3 k max i believe )
Rear mount stop lamp / brake light
( it lacks the light but still have the space for light which can installed easily for 2 k to 3 k max )
Has a much better looking infotainment system / in dash cd player than gli
Rear center arm rest which we dont use mostly in our cars and most of the time it remains closed n folded
Btw when ever i sit at back i always use it 
The main thing is ABS
Which is a really needed feature
And cant be installed ...
But again , let me give you example here
We had swift dx before corolla for daily use
It didnt have abs
We knew that , and since the car was bought for daily routine drive dropping sis to school getting grocery and drive within city only where speed most of the time never crossed 60
It was good
My father used to drive it
ALHAMDULILLAH since hes a sensible and careful driver he never came across any such situation where he had to apply full brakes while turning etc where you need abs badly
So if you drive sensibly with care n concentration and maintain decent space you will never face any trouble ..
I have used 9th gen corolla 2.0d which lacked abs
Ppl used to say at that time that xli and 2.od had poor brakes
But i never faced any trouble in that car and used it for 2 years
It had nice brakes
Not impressive but not so poor
Previous xli had better
And this corolla has really good brakes ..
