I think it has to do with the CVT. When you floor the turbo it doesn't "feel" that fast. It doesn't have that strong kick down.
If someone had asked me which one is faster between Mark X 250G and 1.5T I would vote for 250G. I have driven both and somehow the Mark X "feels" a lot faster.
But clearly as devil has proven twice, Mark x can not hold out against the Civic.

U r absolutely right as i used to owned markx 250G for 4.5yrs and it was much quicker after 100kph as i dont feel this same in my civic turbo maybe i m so used to wit my A3 1.8T power

In my opinion the silver 250G you raced was in a much better condition and the race atleast to me seemed a lot closer. This white one got smoked too easily.

I still love the mark x though. Drove one for more than three years. Wonderful car

Yes the silver one was in a better condition atleast body wise
But mechanically even this one wasnt bad at all
The silver one was on 16s and this one on 18s

I have the 0 to 149 km/h video of the same silver Mark X that I raced before
It took 18 seconds to reach 149 km/h
Whereas the result of my Civic is infront of everyone @ post # 990
170 in 18 seconds !

Not 99% its like 60-70% in 1.2Tand 35-40% in 1.8T but hardly seen on road, anyhow i ll try to make new video as i had few videos which was in old fone all deleted by mistake. Your next race shud be with more powerful car like rx8 6spd, 300G markx and stock A3 1.8T...it will be good match race

Your 0-170kph is impressive but wen the video open u r already on 10km so it's like 10-170kph in 18sec btw how did u make video? Also i have noticed u havent turn off ur VSA control so tht also help if u turn off.

Indeed its quite fast ! But considering small body lesser weight German technology a top class brand and that too modified not stock 0 to 170 in 17 seconds is impressive but still nothing extra ordinary

No when the video opens i was at 1km/h
Actually i didnt floor when I was at 1 you can hear the sound when i pushed the pedal so it more like 1 to 170 km/h

Yes it does help a lot, i read on american spec civic 1.5T wit traction control on did in 15.9sec in quartermile and traction control off did in 15.3sec so tht big difference...it was quartermile 0-400meter test

VSA, whatever name other car makers use can't be defeated 100%.. Due to safety regulations and specific ECU programing even if you switch off.. it's not completely off..

Yep same things in my Audi as it doesnt go fully off, i can still see traction control light blinking in first 2 gears on full WOT
