AOA All. I am from Islamabad and own a 92 model Mehran. Alhamdulillah i have not had many issues with it and am satisfied with what I have. However, lately, I have been experiencing a tuk tuk sound from the right front side whenever the car used to hit a road jump or on a bumpy road. At times there is no tuk tuk sound at all. Then what started happening was that the driving side tyre started brushing with the mud flap while turning right. I went to a mechanic in F-11 service road and he said the below. I would request you all to please share your comments and expert opinion on this.

Mechanic: He drove my car on a rough bumpy road to check the alignment and the different sounds. The tuk tuk sound was generated whenever i used to change a gear and press the pedal to increase speed. He said, the outer axle and the balance rod bushes will be changed.

I look forward to all members' help and support in understanding what needs to be done to get this issue fixed, hassle free ofcourse:)

the things ur mechinc mentioned are two issues which mehrans face
1 Balance rod bushes or jumping rod bushes these get worn out and are a cheap fix but go for genuine ones which are made by SGP company and a set will cost 400 get them replaced
the second thing that tuk tuk sound it the meachnic might be on to something the outer portion of axel is called CV joint and it will cost u 800-1000rs but when u turn then does it makes this sound of its when u hit a khada is it continues tuk tuk or just when u hit a bump plus i suggest when axel will be opened do not allow kharadiya to alter length of axels and also get one axel seal speare as meachincs tend to damage axel seal its an O ring in the gear box end
and plz do share the whats done and also get opinon from some other mechnc from that area

I've got Mehran 2007 its 104,250 driven it's reducing oil arround 800 to 900 ml when driven for 2500kms no blue smoke in the morning or when driven, no oily silencer/exhaust. please diagnose the problem, no starting problems easily goes to 120kms/h on lahore ring road. CNG consumption @ 22KM/KG

I had same problem, switched to Havoline thicker oil. It resolved my problem

which oil u are using if its Quartz then it just disappers
but if u using thin oil then change to thicker viscocity but 104K not that much we have 140K driven mehran still using Zic 10w 40 in it no problem but first check this with thicker oil then it might be vakve seals and rings problem

I use 20w50 oil I've used petromin ultra 7, Zic hiflow, havoline and now on shell helix

switch to zic or some other good brand shell helix is bakwas

hey experts, need a bit of advice

my mehran 2006 VXR (80k) had play in the gears and and occasionally it was difficult to engage 1st gear. like am stopping on a signal and when want to engage the first gear i could not, so i first engaged 3rd gear then neutral and then again 1st. sometimes this practice was needed 2/3 times...so when i visited Suzuki 3S for 80k checkup i also had them check this. they replaced a "cross -t" it was a white plastic t, after that the play is gone and it is easier to engage gears (i should also mention that gear oil was changed @ 79k recently). but still sometimes i still find it difficult to engage 1st gear. though the problem is improved but not still fully resolved. what should be checked for this, it is the clutch plate wear that is causing this or some thing else? kindly guide me regarding this...

one other little thing, when i start the car especially in the morning, it has a little vibration due to cold and the silencer generates some noise. agar me silencer ko pakar *** to awaz khatam hojati he and that made me realize it is related to silencer, so i checked it a lil bit more and i observed if i press the second last rubber bush from the rear the sound stopped. I talked about this with Suzuki guy, he checked all the bushes and said that they are fine and in proper condition, doesn't need replacement, and that this one is fitted like the way it is. So i guessed maybe ye bas jaan churana chah raha he kaam se, so should I let some silencer guy look at this. this sound is no much and is very faint from inside the car, but i really hate this noise and want to get rid of it, so kindly advice for this too

first gear engage problem adjust the clutch setting from the nut on gear box and if needed then replace clutch wire its available for 600rs original.
and the bush problem well it makes this noise and only cylncer guys know the solution go to cylncer guy and replace the bush.

One more thing, on the visit I asked the Suzuki guy to check the suspension etc. He told me to get the door pins adjusted and said by constant use they get worn and it is better to adjust them as it will result in proper positioning of the door and that little vibrations will also disappear. And that means the doors will be opened and the pins will be adjusted by a Kharadia. So kindly tell me if it is part of regular maintenance, do I really need to do this. Also will it affect the genuinity of the car or resale??? Any comments will be appreciated.

i had done this and door pins aka kabzay the best way to check this is to open the door and try to lift it up if it shows play then tey need new door pins all doors will be open and adjusted later on when put back by denter and i think khardya will take 50rs or 100 rs per kabza and there are 8 door pins in a car and well they don't effect resale or genuine-ness its a good thing if u do it

done both things are easy to get by in pindi saddar or khada market

8mm ultima cost about 650rs
plugs 400 for 3 plugs
and if exhaust is ok then no need to change any thing
and well u need to find a guy who has Computerized tuning setup otherwise with ustads this will continue

I am thinking to buy Mehran efi this month. Do I still have to make these changes for better performance?
