Mehran Experience Tips and suggestions

1 : in your axels check them from any good machenic.
2 : if it;s inside cabin kr krr krrr than there must be something loosen inside your dash do check it but if it;s from engine compartment then this could be your front suspenssion or it can be speedo meter cable.
3 : your temp gauge wire isn't fitted properly do check it.
4 & 5 : pressure and clutch plates needs to be change and also check gear oil and change it .

Thanks for the reply, I'll get these checked asap. Does anyone know how much would the whole wiring of mehran 2004 cost me? and also the method to check the gear oil?

This is a great thread for people like me. I got a 2004 mehran in april last year. I am a student and this is my first car. I started taking it to university from sep 2013. I have a few concerns about its performance. I hope you guys can help out

1. recently when I accelerate while making a turn, there is tk tk tk sound from the front left side. What is it?
2. For about 6 months I have been hearing kr kr krrr sound inside the cabin. I though it is the relay that is connected beside steering but it is not the relay.
3. the temperature gauge is always below C
4. While shifting to 1st gear I often find it difficult to engage it. Then I have to lift the clutch a little till I hear a slight grinding sound, the press the clutch and put into first.
5. The car never goes above 80kmph on CNG

I am new to this car keeping thingy so, don't know much. Please help and mention the local mechanic names of parts so that I may be able to tell the mechanic. They don't get terms like struts etc.

1 both CV joints need replacement cost 2200 for good china ones with 1 year warranty
2 check dash board and sound could be from doors
3 ur Rad fan is Direct get it checked that it has thermostate valve or not if not then get one installed Drain all the water in Rad use 3 botttles of coolant Zic green bottles and get fan auto
4 ur cluch cable needs adjustment or replacement good one is for 700rs
5 ur car might be needing tappets tuning and plugs replacement even plug wires need to be replaced

today I went to the mechanic and got the car checked. He adjusted the tappets and now the pick is good. He also told me that the car needs replacement of front and rear shock absorbers and also the adjustment of leaf springs.
Please tell me which shock absorbers would be best and from where can I get these and price as well.
Mechanic said the original front would be 6000 rupees pair.
Kindly guide.

I couldn't understand. When you had 12" diameter tyres then speed should be exactly whats on the speedo. Please explain. As I understand diameter effects actual and speedo readings. What do you think?

there aspect ratio is different side wall is little higher then stock size u can check it on online tire size calculator it will give u all answeers

If yes then which brand should I prefer? For both mehran and cuore. Also, would adding silicon plug wires improve the overall performance?

irididums are better then platinum in all aspects
i used NGK iridium IX and Denso VK 20 both work in mehran and i think same for coure

in rawalpindi ?? well Sadar will be the place
and if ur low on budget then go for kabuli shocks
get only bottle rest spring will be from ur old shock
cost around 1200 for set
and in new ones gabrial and KYB both are good
if ur car is newer model then buy new ones
and rear kamanies for that u need to go to a kamani expert

talking about mehran shocks... is its rear kamanis can be any good and softer? my car seems very stiff on roads and on bumps i hear sounds inside cabins from dashboard and trunk...

I have recently rebuild my 2004 mehran engine and installed new clutch too. I have noticed that when i shift to second gear and pick the car vibrates a little. What could be the reason?

well its new engine and does viberation come in all gear or 2nd?
baki drive it 1000kms on petrol and get tappets tuning adjusted
