ideally you need 2 hammers one to strike it with and one at the exact opposite end of the strike, this causes the shockwave to go forwards and fully bounceback causing the morse joint taper to jar itself loose. You can employ some fancy pullers but two hammers is the easiest.
I employ the use of pullers when Im dealing with aluminium hubs.
with your mehran - smack it - make sure you are using a proper hammer and swinging it with your wrist and not your elbow. The aim is not to break the part but more to "ring" it loose - it deforms shape for a millisecond and pops the pin out.
