^^ Exactly, rise in Dollar cause price hike for JDM cars. Let take this as example:-

Lets say a JDM car cost about $1000. Then in year 2008 we had Dollar upto 60 so that price of the car in PKR rupees was 1000 * 60 = 60000 and now today dollar is touching 100. So the price of "same" car is 1000 * 100 = 100,000

Where as Local cars specially Mehran is "built" here in Pakistan. Parts of Mehran is not a problem because they all are made locally. And still Suzuki claims that they are importing parts from Japan that's why costs is so high.

haha that's the same joke Pak Suzuki tell to people. God forbidden if Mehran's engine is importing from Japan then it won't cost more than 50,000 Pak Rupees. So do you think other local "made" parts justify the price?

I love my Pakistan more than anyone else but I m not satisfied where it stands today You may be happy with the only fact that Pak Suzuki is manufacturing everything locally but brother that is not benchmark of Progress, at least not for me I want to see Pakistan touch heights of Glory....and no doubt it is Land of Gems and the day we find a visionary leadership THERE WILL BE NO LOOKING BACK....

I had a Mehran for almost 8 years and drove it for more than 1,00,000 kms. Except for engine i changed almost everything in it because it needed to be changed. Clutch plate i changed twice. After every major journey (e.g Lahore, Islamabad it need repairs almost 2 to 3 thousand rupees. then suddenly one cold winter morning on a crowded road it burst in flames but thankfully it did not burnt fully. Reason unknown. Spent more than 20,000on it. In the end i sold it. Bought other cars with other type of horror and good stories. end of the story. lolz

If you couldn't maintain a car, doesn't mean the car is that bad. We've kept two one from 1989 to 2002 and one from 2006-2013. I was content with it never gave me such problems.

JDMs engines are 100 RON tuned, from where you will bring fuel? On Pakistani fuels most of JDMs engines would not last long

Body parts, bumpers, fenders, grills, lights, etc would be problem to source if need replacement in case of an accident

The JDM's in Mehran's price range are mostly 660c which are mostly street patrol, delivery cars in Japan not meant for highway driving

In 1000cc segments JDMs are above one million rs mark

That's why people chose Mehran

I maintained my Mehran very well. That was the reason that I changed everything in it. But it was bewafa Car. Was never happy about all the care i gave it and always wanted more.
