Mehran Temp Guage

Dear Members,
I am facing a problem in my suzuki mehran 2008 model 94000 km driven. For the past few days when ever i start my car the needle of temp guauge goes immediatley to red, if you touch the radiator and all pipes are cold. But after warming up the engine and driving 4-5 km the needle comes back to center, radiator fan is auto and it works fine. I have check the meter with the help of different resistors, its fine. Changed the temperature sendimg unit but still the problem persists. Please share your view/experiences on this issue.

the thermal switch aka coolant temp sensor under the thermostat flange has gone bad. Buy an oem new and replace, problem will be solved

Thanks brother @ nabeel. Today i bought a kabli coolant temp sensor and replaced the previous, but the problem is not solved.

such parts are available new and very light over pocket. Kabul does not have any motor parts manufacturing facility. Scrap items from scrapped useless vehicles are called kabli. there is no guarantee for functionality to be accurate.

you can test the sensor using digital multi meter. red probe connected to terminal TIP, black probe to sensor body. hang the sensor in pot under geyser hot water running. if resistance varies the sensor is good. The cluster gauge need to be repaired.

Seems like an issue with the meter. get it checked. in mehran meter temp and the fuel guage are the most idiotic and gets easily damaged once a meter is opened for any reason. thats why meter walas when they put new needle with glowing lights.....they utterly refuse to change temp and fuel guages.

Check water level in radiator. Then the temp sensor. Then check meter.

@nnabeel thanks bro, i too think the same, recently electrician put led lights in my meter. Please tell me where can i find new temperature meter guage? And if i am driving car in current state and if the problem is in meter will it effect anything in car or not?

put back the original temp sensor and save the recently bought one. Go to hafiz jee meter wala inside the plaza market first floor. he corrects them even he has many brand new meters as well as old meters. but u have to take your meter at his shop.
