lol - yep, if getting ripped off makes them sleep better. I knew of a bunch of such weirdos - made sure I stayed away from them. i dont want their infected money.
There was once an instance of this chrysler voyager 3.3 parked in Karachi, it was a dead van due to a bad ASD and crank sensor. The apparently supremely high tech workshop gave an estimate of new ECM, new BCM, new sensors throughout the engine. Estimated at about 200,000/- Rs for a piece of crap chrysler van.
I got the guy a replacement relay for free from one of my old parts bins (simple small relay) and a new sensor from UAE, it takes 5 minutes to install it. The only other thing is that you require a piece of matches box paper and some wax or grease to stick on the sensor face when installing.
The guy was so flabberghasted that it takes only a few minutes that I had to inquire why, the hi tech shop used to tell him it takes a day to do it. WOW
p.s. the old sensor actually was ripped open by the previous mechanic who installed it, making me believe that the original problem was just the ASD relay.
