Yes, if we compare total sale volume with other European automakers, the sales are less. But what matters is growth rate. MG is in aggressive growth. Car sales were down 23.7% in 2020 in EU due to pandemic, but MG sales were up 58% in 2020. If this growth rate continues, MG will become a major global brand in future.

. it's not just the product, it's the after sales service support, timely delivery and sensible pricing and no premium.. MG might be a good product but our local operation is pathetic

I do agree their aftersales servicing etc isn’t upto the mark compared to others for now but they will improve later on

Except Sportage, all of these crossovers come with risk of after sales support. MG clearly stands out from the rest due to its very sporty exterior and interior. Tuscon is a very uncle type car, it will appeal to those who like Corollas. It's incredibly bland. Proton has a weird 3-cylinder engine, but still looks nice. MG is the best of the lot.

Actually wanted MG to come to Pak given how well received it has been in the UK, Australia, and India but really the most useless local partner. I feel like this is going to end up worse than dewan since JW group apparently already has crap financials.

They broke into Australia's top 10 sales board in February btw.

baki dunya main MG aur even hyundai 'market breakers" hain with their prices and offers, thats why they have had their success, Pakistan main dono "pree-mium" brands hain. Mg3 ke kahani bhe karae gae hai, jub us ke bhe keemat aani hai , lag pata jana hai sub ko.

Do you even see the competition here? Proton X70, Sportage and HS are all in the 50-55 lac category. Do you know what else sells in this price range? Toyota Rush and Avanza. Vitara is for 65 lac. So even in Pakistan these brands are offering far better value than the established companies.

avanza , rush, vitara were never market cars, hence they never got any traction at their price(s), the new comers brought this segment to life.

None of them are even produced or assembled locally. Nor sold much here.

Competition is with:
Fortuner > Sorento, failed.
Corolla/Civic > Elantra. Failed as super expensive.
Yaris > Alsvin, almost a fail as Lumiere is close to Yaris.

Sportage had no competitor when it launched. Got massive success.

Now all crossovers are competing with Sportage.

Hyundai has to learn something. When you're launching competing cars, price them much lower than Toyota to grab any share of the market.

That's what they do worldwide. Otherwise nobody cares about it.

I believe Alsvin is a fail too... it competes with picanto and cultus (celerio) worldwide in the same price bracket... here they went against yaris, big mistake.

If no one cares about Hyundai against Toyota, then they would care even less for a weird Chinese sounding company that named their car against ALVIN and the chipmunks

I am sure this is "marketing strategy" of Javed Afridi, and has nothing to do with MG. Haven't seen a single UK flag anywhere in MG India.
