When did you book your vehicle?
If you booked it any time before March you’re definitely getting a CBU

Also if they delivered a CKD they'd have pay heavy compensation for late deliveries so I’m sure it’s also in MG Pakistan’s interest to deliver CBUs to customers for now

The percentage of dealers buying this car is just insane compared to rrgular buyers. Tons of people are buying 3-5 like it's a joke. Go to the mg pages on fb and you will see people bashing MG for delivering to dealers only and those same people will put up their MG for sale on the very day it arrives.

Would really love to know if anyone in this thread owns an HS and can tell about the different aspects of the car. I've been hearing some stuff about the car's transmission issues and would really like someone to elaborate on that.

Yes Bro i m facing it too. The transmission is noisy and clunky at low speed while downshifting and even it feels jerky sometimes only at low speeds. This is may b bcoz of DCT transmission but it shoulnt b happening in a new car. It was OK at first 1000km but after that the issue is quite noticible.

This is the inherit DCT issue. The free clutch will always have the next gear ready until final drive. If the speed goes down the clutch has to disengage and than engage the lower gear on the shaft.
That's y it gives this jerkiness during city traffic, DCTs can be pretty finiky, vw with all their research messed up a little at start.

just one thing NEVER EVER CHANGE YOUR GEAR OIL TO ANYTHING NOT SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. all Pak DCT cars are wet clutch and any funny or non spec oil can literally eat the main clutches. Case in point vw Tiguan.

VW DCT's are now one of the most refined units. I am driving a VW DCT since 2012 [ MK6 GTI and now MK7 ]. Really can't drive a conventional automatic, like in my current generation Tiguan with regular 8 speed Auto.

So is it normal to have a brand new car with a transmission issue? I also have a sportage which is 80000km driven which is CVT and believe me it has a far smoother transmission and have no worries what so ever. While this MG with only 1300km driven and i m concered of its strange DUAL-CLUTCH phenomena which makes uncomfortable noise at low speed.

Clutch friction is a major problem for DCTs... just look at how vezel transmission heats up and that's a Honda...

Bookings aren't open atm. They will reopen once they take orders for local production. Not 100% sure but rumor is they will book those in Aug

HS reviews do note that the gearbox can usually be in the wrong gear at low speeds

In stop and go traffic, I am sure many people will not be engaging the clutch fully and creep forward .

There is no manually operated clutch in HS I think.

Can someone kindly tell me who the owner/CEO of MG Pakistan is?
On Wikipedia it says that it’s Javed Afridi but on one of PakWheels blogs they mention that Javed Afridi has no role in MG Pakistans management.

So what exactly is Javed Afridis involvement with MG Pakistan?

MG is owned by JW Automobile which in turn is owned by JW SEZ which is owned by Javed Afridi.
