No experience with the PHEV but the normal 1.5 HS gave me 11 on long when I took it

On Motorway at 105-110km/h, HS gives me 14km/liter

Yeah agreed, but if I'm driving on the Motorway I'm doing 125 which makes quite a big difference in fuel average (rightfully so with aerodynamics). Personal preference but I cannot justify the lost time for a few thousand rupees. Thank you for the heads up though!

I have an MG HS wanted to sell it as I have been really in love with the new H6 facelift. So was wondering what would be the right price for my MG. I’m giving the details below for your judgment and reference.

Thanks mate. Actually I did that as well to get an idea but wasn’t sure how the market is like nowadays. Since in a lot of threads as well conversation with people they seem to think the resale is slow so hence was looking for a sweet spot on the price.

I would not be surprised if the prices are being inflated by sellers but after negotiations the price would actually be below the 6 million bracket.

Could you tell us about your experience with your HS? Any kind of repairs that came up in your 77k of driving?

Exactly what I had in mind considering the actual resale value.

Well the experience has been really pleasant overall felt like a proper upgrade from my previous daily runner civic x. Few points I would highlight though:

1. The ride is very comfortable and is a pleasure to drive plus I often use the radar function on the motorway. It’s carplay and android auto enabled which make drives convenient, the default sound system on it is pretty good.

2. Fuel average is not as bad as people tend to claim I get about 11 in city and 14 on long. I consider my foot not be too heavy on the pedal.

3. Maintenance should be done from dealerships, desi mechanics might mess up the car. The work done till date has been regular in nature such as break pads replacement, gear oil change etc. Has been pretty reliable otherwise. Maintenance wise I could give an example perhaps that a standard engine oil change costs around 15-16k. However parts prices are slightly on the higher side as is the case with almost all SUVs.

4. The screen is slow at times and can be a bit frustrating secondly there is a lag in the initial gears. Coming from CVT I still feel at times.

Thank you so much for the reply. I personally do not find the ride that comfortable as I do not prefer stiff suspensions like this but that is a preference thing (The roads I travel on are not as good).

break pads replacement

If you don't mind me asking when did you replace the pads? Obviously that highly depends on routes traveled but an estimate would be nice. I'm surprisingly still on the original breaks on my 80k Corolla.

The front break pads had more wear so replaced at 50k whereas the rear ones were at 65k. But agreed depends on the driving style and the type of terrain and roads on which the car is used.

Dear brothers, I am considering to buy a used MG HS (non-electric) near the 60 price bracket. I have seen there are a lot of used MG available on PW however I am a bit confused as to which one is better as I dont have much knowledge about specs of MG models rolled out during the last few years, need your Xpert advice,

In my experience the CBU units have slightly softer seats (could also be just from use), would love more input from others. Otherwise there aren't any big differences. The newer CKD models have the auto breaking feature disabled, a fully digital cluster and updated maps (which I would never use to begin with). Just get the one that looks to be in the best condition.

Good value for buying it used. Pros are top of the line features and tech with a decent interior. Cons would be a laggy infotainment system that controls everything such as your ADAS stuff, AC and media. Fuel average is atrocious from my personal experience and the DCT takes some getting used to as it may feel bumpy due to sudden breaks and shifts (should not be an issue on long routes, only congested city traffic).

Another factor is the suspension, it is quite stiff. This works well for long routes, high speed driving and stability and well paved roads. However, on not so great roads it will make you feel everything in your seat.

Another con is requirement of hi octane fuel. Won’t find it everywhere. Plus gives bad average even on hi octane .

Excellent choice in that budget.
PROS:
1) Very well built car
2) Excellent paint job
3) 1.5 turbo with DCT gives excellent power delivery
4) ADAS features are like you name it and MG has it
5) Modern interior
6) Beautiful exterior
7) I have driven one for 55000 kilometres with just the routine servicing and oils. No issues faced. Still in excellent condition. I sold it just in the last week
CONS:
1) Hi Octane is your fuel
2) Very heavy on the pocket. Gives a maximum of around 9 to 9.5 km per litre in city traffic
3) Terrible AC performance for lahore summer even for the units working properly. Above that, you are advised to be cautious as some HS have had problematic ACs that trip again and again
4) Infotainment system is agonisingly slow and to add insult to injury, you need it even for some of the core functions of the car like setting the AC.
5) You wiil need to develop a habit of switching off the Front collision system and MG Pilot every time you start the car. Not turning the Front Collision system off while driving in lahore can result in someone hitting you from behind as the car will at times automatically brake and brake very hard

Buying Advice: Even for a well built car 4 years of use do take its toll on the machine hence getting the one in good condition is key to happy ownership.

CONCLUSION: If you are willing to keep your pocket deep and ALWAYS park the car in shaded place during summer you'll love this car for the budget.

Not sure if these things were fixed later on or not, but a big issue is the panoramic sunroof that has a very thing fabric cover that lets in too much heat. It would probably be best to add some heat proof clear film around all the windows. I have not encountered too many issues yet so I haven't done so but I can definitely see myself putting something on the pano roof.

The later models have the front collision system permanently turned off, maybe the showroom can disable that permanently too

The ones assembled in pakistan come with the permanently disabled collision assist. But these newer models are going to cost much higher than the 6 milliion budget and additionally the collision assist comes very handy on motorways so I would rather develop the habit than lose this feature altogether

Fair enough, you made it sound like getting rid of it would make your life easier. Never really liked the auto breaking stuff and for the motorway I feel the adaptive cruise control would be plenty.
