I recently saw MG HS expert review of Suneel Munj. He mentioned he used regular fuel in his car.
I know some discussion already done in this group in topic. I would like to hear from people who are using regular fuel in car whether they faced any issue after long term use.

Do you think Suneel Munj is smarter than the engineers who designed the engine and say to use Hi-Octane?

The car was launched 2 years ago, so no one has "long-term experience" with using regular petrol on it. My guess is that most people who buy such an expensive suv don't want to risk damaging the engine by saving few rupees on petrol.

If you really like the car, just go for it, fill it up with Hi-Octane and enjoy!

Put in three full tanks of regular fuel only and the car starts crying about it forget a year

Anyone upsized battery in their HS? These days our car is parked a lot ~10 days between uses and Battery Low voltage warning comes on. I'm considering getting a bigger battery vs a battery charger to top up the battery every week?

Just made a transition from Sportage to MG HS - I have to admit the comfort and ride quality is better.

Although I believe there’s a learning curve involved and you have to manage expectations as it’s not as responsive as naturally aspirated engine, I’m also noticing a few sounds / clicks not sure if this is normal or needs maintenance - servicing pls guide.

When putting the gear into reverse if the road is level / straight - the movement is smooth , but if there’s an incline or you have to reverse upwards to a car porch the car makes a clunk sound esp from the driver side of tire/engine and then reverses up - anyone else faced this issue ? Is it normal or a faulty drive shaft?

I have faced same issues. Plus normally when coming out of basement on slopes, you need to put more accelerator otherwise u feel terrible sound/vibration from engine. I didn't feel it in civic or Sportage before.
Local assembly have lot of small clicking sounds from here and there in plastic body and roof which sometime on bumpy road gets annoying.

Becareful with auto braking system I was about to buy MG today but my friend had an accident because of the computer on board even when autobrake was off. So need take care.

It's because it has DCT transmission - Think automated-manual transmission using two clutches. It's ok for them to occasionally make a clunking sound when put in reverse - especially if the transmission is under load (incline etc). Happens on my BMW as well.

You won't experience this on CVT transmission and its different mechanism and less sporty transmission.
