Another con is requirement of hi octane fuel. Won’t find it everywhere. Plus gives bad average even on hi octane .

Excellent choice in that budget.
PROS:
1) Very well built car
2) Excellent paint job
3) 1.5 turbo with DCT gives excellent power delivery
4) ADAS features are like you name it and MG has it
5) Modern interior
6) Beautiful exterior
7) I have driven one for 55000 kilometres with just the routine servicing and oils. No issues faced. Still in excellent condition. I sold it just in the last week
CONS:
1) Hi Octane is your fuel
2) Very heavy on the pocket. Gives a maximum of around 9 to 9.5 km per litre in city traffic
3) Terrible AC performance for lahore summer even for the units working properly. Above that, you are advised to be cautious as some HS have had problematic ACs that trip again and again
4) Infotainment system is agonisingly slow and to add insult to injury, you need it even for some of the core functions of the car like setting the AC.
5) You wiil need to develop a habit of switching off the Front collision system and MG Pilot every time you start the car. Not turning the Front Collision system off while driving in lahore can result in someone hitting you from behind as the car will at times automatically brake and brake very hard

Buying Advice: Even for a well built car 4 years of use do take its toll on the machine hence getting the one in good condition is key to happy ownership.

CONCLUSION: If you are willing to keep your pocket deep and ALWAYS park the car in shaded place during summer you'll love this car for the budget.

Not sure if these things were fixed later on or not, but a big issue is the panoramic sunroof that has a very thing fabric cover that lets in too much heat. It would probably be best to add some heat proof clear film around all the windows. I have not encountered too many issues yet so I haven't done so but I can definitely see myself putting something on the pano roof.

The later models have the front collision system permanently turned off, maybe the showroom can disable that permanently too

The ones assembled in pakistan come with the permanently disabled collision assist. But these newer models are going to cost much higher than the 6 milliion budget and additionally the collision assist comes very handy on motorways so I would rather develop the habit than lose this feature altogether

Fair enough, you made it sound like getting rid of it would make your life easier. Never really liked the auto breaking stuff and for the motorway I feel the adaptive cruise control would be plenty.

Well after doing that engineering mode thing in can info
Hace you cross checked in system settings ?
Were the options set to off after restarting the engine

once you do it through the can info, the option in the system setting disappears. Been running it for 3 years on multiple MG. In the can info you can choose to turn it off completely or put it on alert only mode

Seriously thinking ot buying HS 2021. Few questions

1. What is difference between CBU and CKD and how to differentiate between two?
2. Can HS be used on regular , mix or it always require Hi Octane
3. What to look for in terms of potential issues ?

I'm assuming that the CBU has the old cluster design (two analog looking gages for speed and rpm). There aren't any real major difference, I personally felt the CBU seats to be slightly softer but that could just be me comparing new and old seats (purely age). Newer CKD models (newer than 2021) have had the auto break disabled and updated maps for Pakistan. I don't think there are any CKD 2021 HS.

It probably can be used on mix but really it should be filled with Hi Octane. If you can't find hi octane the car will not break, so don't worry about being stranded

The DCT transmission will not like it if you inch forward during stop and go traffic or at a traffic light. Let go of the break pedal only when you can depress all of it.

The fabric that protects from sunlight of the panoramic roof is really thin and lets in a lot of heat, consider putting on some kind of UV ray blocking sheet on the glass. Some people complained about the AC performance but really the only problem would be that the AC has to work overtime because of the panoramic sunroof letting in too much heat.

The auto trunk would be a pain and super expensive to fix, make sure it works alright.
