That's what bothers me.. why tweet and create doubts. Is this a workshop or a factory?? I mean factory in 2 months that too with upcoming month is Ramazan and everything slows down typically.

Also why open LC for 5200 units when local assmbley will start in 2 months?? 5200 import can take almost a 9 months to a year to complete.

Again, I hope and wish we see local assembly in next 2 to 3 months.

I booked mine on March 1 and got a tentative delivery of July, the fishy thing is that nowhere do they mention that the car that will be delivered will be a CBU and only give verbal assurances. Literally the only thing that can make them accountable is if they change the variant of the local version from LUX to something else otherwise no legal action can be taken if they deliver local cars.

How buyers will know if they are getting a CKD or CBU?
and if CKD will change the price?

JW should clarify this.

To be honest, its now test for JW.. The CKD should be cheaper automatically.

CBU or CKD MG is providing quality cars and giving customers value for their money. Though nobody is buying Rush and Avenza yet Toyota is offering these as CBU at 5.5 million price tag. I was wondering why FBR is not suspecting under invoicing in case of Avanza or Rush.

Because avanza and rush are that bad and come in corolla price bracket. Where as HS is a well equipped car, and Pakistan white collar public is not be allowed such cars. Any feeling of joy needs to be taken away from them.

It appears as its a typical Pakistani 'jugaar', they will under-invoice the cars, bring them to Pakistan in few major pieces (so calling it a CKD and bypassing taxes) and then re-assemble it on a small assembly line and sell it. Resulting in no benefit to Pakistani auto industry.

I hate Honda/Toyota but they have at least invested heavily in part localization and make body panels in Pakistan. OTOH, the new comers are bringing everything from outside and just putting it together.

i think we should wait a couple of months , it will be huge if MG actually started a really functional assembly line here for at least three of their cars.

They can always CBU Unit without Bumpers, locally fabricate the bumpers and install them at the assembly shop, Voila. Locally assembled car.

Bhai ask any auto enthusiast how much time required to set up assembly lines,atleast 1.5-2 years don't know what afridi is doing

NOT against ..but incorrect marketing.

The 1.8L per 100 kilometers is COMBINED ONLY when the battery is fully charged. The pure EV range is around 70 kilometers so when combined is calculated by the fuel economy agencies, that's taken care of.

When you are cruising, the number changes In actual its 8 to 9 liters per 100 kilometers which is same for a non Hybrid HS.

This is exactly the same reason all these PHEV's have such good advertised mileage because most of the testing distance is covered by the electric only range and the petrol range is very minimally used. I searched the PHEV online and turns out that "55" is im reality only "15" kmpl which is pathetic for a hybrid.

Good news as long as its established on ground.

Again nothing against the JW but people in market are skeptical. Back in 2018, a $200M glass factory inauguration was done and the announced as the largest factory in Faisalabad economic zone. 3 years later , there is nothing on ground.

I personally know one of my friend who is an expert in ceramics and was working for Gunj Glass. JW announced job opening, he left Gunj and joined JW.. later he was laid off from JW because there was no operational plant. He went back to Gunj.

JW don't have even an address on their glass factory website for the planned glass factory or on their JW group website. Such things obviously creates doubts in the industry.

I hope and wish , such things don't happen in case of MG / EV factory. I hope the MAKE IN PAKISTAN slogan gets real and we cut on imports. Not sure what is the current updates on this glass factory. Please if anyone knows anything, kindly do share.

Incase of MG factory, Afridi sahab has confirmed via a tweet that in next 2 months there will be local assembly. Let hope for the best.
