Fellow Pakwheelers, with the current situation MG being owned by SAIC motors China, does only assembling occur in China or the car as a whole is manufactured and assembled in China. There are alot of ambiguous statements on the internet so wanted to ask here.

The post clearly mentions Base Variant, so that means there would be a higher variant as well and maybe called Trophy.

I think MG will discontinue ZS due to poor sales and they will launch 3 variants of MG HS, Base, Mid and High.

Base variant will compete Kia Alpha
Mid will compete KIA/Hyundai FWD
Top will compete KIA/Hyundai AWD

MG HS in Black is called Essence. MG HS in white is called Excite.

Excite is the base variant which Pakwheels showed

Essence has all the CBU specs and options except Front Collision warning

Both the vehicle are assembled here in the plant established by MG JW Automobiles with the support of SAIC

It'll only be interesting if Javed Afridi's MG CKDs are able to undercut Kia Sportage in terms of pricing which looks difficult imho.
