I am in karachi. I am restoring this car. My demand is high because I bought this car last year for 200,000 and i am still spending money to make it the best mini im karachi. Who ever gets this car is going to be lucky person. I buying new tires, and new shocks today (I am keeping the suspension as original as possible). The car is at a garage right now for repair work. I was thinking of changing the engine but the current engine is running like a bee and is very rare to find but the engine can be modified. It has new radiator, super coil (made in use), new fuel pump and I can go on with list...

It has few extras as well, like boost meter, 2 rpms, air purifier, center console and it is the newer model and dash is great looking. It has original stock seats but I am going get it leather covered.

Bottom line... Who ever buys this car wont have to restore it. It is indeed an excellent ride!!!

Here the update!

Brakes Repaired. (New brake pads)
V-rod/axles repaired. (New bushes)
Finally bought 2 new dunlop low profile tires. (2 old tires are good as new)
Bought new set of front and rear shocks. (Original Austin Mini shocks made in England)
The turn signals were not working. Now I intalled a new switch so the problem has been fixed! We have right/left/hazard lights...
The chassis has been repaired and painted. (new metal sheets welded)

By tomorrow the suspension will be pretty much NEW... no more work needed for the suspension and brakes!

The body and paint is pretty good so Next step will be to customize the seats!

how much did the shocks cost you? What engine does it have right now? What engine do you want to replace it with?

I was very lucky to get these new sets of shocks. Someone had these in their storage for more than 20 years. Cost me around Rs4000 only. The shocks are made in England for Mini.

I don't plan to change the Engine. It is running on Mitsubishi 1200cc 3 cylinder GT with 3 Intakes... I want to keep it like this because the engine is good and rare to find...

MMkay. The engine sounds good. I know one pakwheeler is putting a D15b in his mini (it's a 67 or a 68). Another one of my friends bought a mini and is looking to change it up from the current suzuki mehran engine with an auto transmission to SOMETHING else. He was trying to get an original mini engine. How big is your engine block? Are there any problems with heat? How about bodywork- anything weird you've seen in terms of effects from heat or anything? Is the transmission original?

i know there's a lot of questions but i'm just asking to get to know more

No they dont have more Mini shocks...

Well I am not sure how big is the engine block but a Mehran or khyber engine should fit... The original engine will be impossible or very hard to find...

I have nt seen any heat problems yet... I did get a new radiator... The front chassis was melting but I got it repaired and welded... maybe it was because of the engine heat... The transmission and gearbox is original...

Yeah that was one heck of a day... I had a flat tire, and one of tire studs broke... So I replaced all the studs and bought 2 new tires

You have great ideas but this kind of customization in Pakistan is going to cost you a fortune... Where do you plan to get this done?

I on the other hand feel that a Mini is classic car, we should restore these cars back to original... For customization like this I would stick to hondas...

Here is update!

I am buying new alloys tomorrow. The rims you see in the pictures did not fit right with the wheel hubs... The previous owner welded the studs to fit the alloys, huge mistake! These old rims also include the spacers to give a sporty look... Now to get the 100% rotation I gonna have remove the spacers and get new alloys that fit with the wheel hubs.

I am also planning to remove the side skirts (black) and replace it with a chrome lining to bring it back to that vintage look!
