Misconceptions about HIDs & Projectors!

Samialvi: It depends on the size of the projectors and the housing, I am quite certain you won't find them easily in Pakistan if at all.

Hi MominHq, few months back i had changed my halogens to Philips. They are going great but now iv'e decided to go for HIDs.

I don't think so hid projectors will be easily available in pakistan and even so, im not an expert in retrofitting. Can you suggest me any cheap reliable place to get this conversion done if atall it is possible in pakistan?

After getting in touch with few custom fitters (in US), i realized they charge somewhere around $600 - $900 for a quad setup which seems too much. Projectors are something you have to buy seperately. I already have 2 pairs of Acura TSX projectors but really have no idea how to do it myself.

Any suggestion in this regard.

TSX Projectors are great but they are single beam, so you will have to install reflectors(or even projectors) if you want high beam.

Retrofitting is not easy but it's not impossible either.There are loads of guides/tutorials that explain each and every step.

I am not aware of any retrofitters in Pakistan.

If you find the quad setup expensive, how about only a dual setup.

Also if you are in the states, check out The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications, these guys are THE best.

hey i'm really new to pakwheels....n dont hav much info regarding headlamps...

i hav 98 civic n i am planning to change my head lights to projection lamps....there r few questions which i hav...

1. in the housing there is a curved shaped lamp (that is projectors).....n there is one normal lamp beside the projector........in one light can i get HID projector n halogen lamps together??

2. from where in khi can i get these lights?

3. i read tht chinese n taiwan projector dont hav visibility so from where to get gud n reasonable lights?

like the pic below has one projector n left to it is normal lights....

If you are still looking for Narva bulbs, you can get them from Autoline on Montgomery Road. It is located in "Sunny Plaza". I am attaching a snap shot from google maps for your convenience.

i wanna know k shall i put in HID's in thm or shall i go for phillips xtreme power or phillips HID

i can import stuff frm dubai frm my cousin n i may even b goin to dubai this decemer so shall i even get the bulbs n projections both from there or is it better here in pak!

n are H1 available in phillips xtreme power??

They are cheaters is what they are, tell them to read up a little bit on the differences between HID and halogen projectors.

These projectors above are halogen projectors and will work best with halogen bulbs.

acha if we keep aside the fact tht the light will go above the cutoff line if we put a hid in halogen projector thn whts gud,bright and good visibility!!

like in the above pic the 2nd 1 is much brighter n i guess with gud visibility...

the first pic seems pretty dull in front of the 2nd pic!!!!

2nd 1 seems gud to me if v ignore the light above the cut off line!

^^bro read the description. they are both of the same type of lights i.e. HID projector. the only difference is one is LHD and other is RHD. the difference in brightness is due to difference settings used on camera.

Need to replace the bulbs on my car.

Should I get the Narva ones available for around 1000 a pair ... or the Philips RallyE 90/100w that are said to be fakes for 300-400 a pair ?

Visibility and brightness are more important than the 'white look' for me.

Narva bulbs definitely.. and if u can find H4 type Narva bulbs, do let me know as well

@devils ray: Philips manufacture X-Treme Power in H1 size too.
@ahsan1702: Whoever say that Philips is available for 1000-2000 is saying incorrect. What I know, Philips Rally H1, H2, H4 and H7 OEM ones are more than 3,000 in price for one pair.
I am also going to upgrade my bulbs to Philips XTreme Power H4 OEM very soon Inshah Allah.

Importing them, price as mentioned above is more than 3,000 rupees. Once I get them, I will be able to tell you exact price. I booked couple of pairs, if you are interested in them, feel free to inform me.

I said 1000rs for the Narvas available at Zamzama or at some shops in Plaza. The Philips Rally im reffering to cost 300rs a pair, which are obviously fakes. I just need to know if they are any good since a few members here said they were good on performance ... atleast double the normal light.
