Mitsubishi I 660 cc mileage and RPM problem

problem is auto when it comes to mileage. I used to get 14-20km/l in city on my yaris 1.0 MT

kindly can you post some pictures of your car ...i kinda like this cars interior
and yea i was planning to buy it ...but well everyone kept me away from it as in the parts aint available, almost NO resale and stuff like that
since i was pretty serious about it...i checked with local company workshops, and guess what ..they didnt knew about this 'I' .. so i dropped the plan
if you can give me some insight about it, as you experience it everyday ..

hows the drive, stability and everything and how do you rate it among other imports of the bracket

wt sorta plugs are u using?these 660cc engine usualy use 7 heat range n people put in 6 which decreases the fuel economy.

I dont know about the plugs. how can i check that? and whats the difference between these too.

I'm sure you have an awd/turbo. Way to confirm is to check your chassis number CBA-HA1W-LRDFZ/LRMFZ

If that's the case CONGRATULATIONS! you found yourself a pretty decent stage-one turbocharged hatchbox. Tread carefully, it's a twelve second car :]
For me it does 13-16 km/L depending on the varying quality of petrol at different fuel stations. (Pleased with the performance and effortless driving)

Anyone who's mamu, chachu, taya, friend, negihbour, xyz claims to get 17-18Km/L either gets his car towed or drives in highest gear at 20Km/hr @ 1000rpm or so... anyway the point im trying to make is that don't expect any good mileage from these JDM econo boxes!!

The Manual tranny JDM 660 cc's might give around 15km/litre... but 19km/litre in city?? Seriously come on!!

These cars only do around 11-13Km/Litre if auto tranny and around 12-15Km/litre if Manual tranny... As these have small 660cc powerhouses who have to pull a big body on them aswell as driver+passengers weight! Passenger weight +big body -> Require more power to pull -> Requires more throttle to be floored -> requires more fuel -> which means less economy!

Btw whoever claims 18-19Km/L needs to prove himself.. as i don't believe in these uri urai hui figures with no proofs!!

please open n note down plugs model n post it here ,the difference is the heat range of plugs.

This is Harris Kamran, from Islamabad. I have a question regarding Mitsubishi I. I am currently in the process of getting a car for myself, and I was wondering if this car can go uphill? Hilly areas like Murree, Bhurban, and Monal are quite near home, so I frequently go there. Will this car be able to travel to mountainous areas with 4 passengers? Since it is a rear wheel drive, I should assume that it would, but I would like to confirm.
This is a very pressing issue, and I urgently need to decide, so kindly help me with my query.

Hello Haris,
If you have an AWD/turbo version this car is much capable of being head to head in comparison to a 1300-1500 cc Vitz. I have personally done some 0-60 mph runs and was surprised to see Mitsubishi i Mivec lead with the initial acceleration.

A turbo charged engine offers higher acceleration and torque from a low displacement engine. Having said that I would advise you to keep an extra fuel-CAN, as it would be much higher on consumption. Reason being as compared to the conventional free intake, a turbo/forced intake takes in a lot more air along with the fuel to get that torque range for climbing up the hills.

Considering the descent clearance on this car it wouldn't have any trouble riding up with four passengers, However please be advised to take caution and pace the climb so as to not over stress the suspension. Mitsubishi i, offers an effortless drive and you wouldn't want to push that Electric Power Steering and active suspension too hard.

I dont know why u are having this problem bro i just bought this car littery just parked take from sialkot drives almost 57 km and only one point get down out of 6 points(half tank) i think everage is excellent infact mind blowing although i keep my rpm meter below 3000 most of times

I think you have multiple problems which are combining to form one BIG problem. Check your catalytic converter and oxygen sensors + map/maf sensor + fuel pressure regulator. I think these will be the biggest culprits.
