@Folks.....for record's sake....
Firstly,someone has correctly pointed out that this is the PAJERO SPORT.....not the PAJERO, which is entirely different! And she is a treat to watch in real!
Secondly, and again correctly pointed out by someone.....it is based on the L200 (as always) and has been around the scene for quite sometime now.....a competitor for the TOYota Fortuner which similarly is based on the Vigo with both manufacturers
1) replacing the rear leaf springs with coils to add to the comfort level.
2) shortening the chassis.
Basically it is a replacement model to relieve the dated pajero sport/challenger/nativa which again is based on the older L200.
The engine has been upgraded to 6G74 i.e 3500 from the older variant 6G72 3000! Am sure there must be diesel common rail 3.2 and 2.5 variants too!
For those who said OUTLANDER.....thats a different frameless league altogether...... being offered in 2.4 and 3000 MIVEC engines.....a beauty when compared to the new ugly RAV4;)
Finally a word on the 2012 pajero.....nothing much new expect for slight cosmetics on the grill and fog lamps and an anniversary edition for the GCC.....though a new shape was expected to take on the 2010 new (yet very ugly) prado but guess its still on the drawing boards....maybe we see one around end 2012....till then fingers crossed!
And yes AWESOME, as Pajeros always are!
