I love Mutt and I am seriously considering to buy one. I love its looks and the fact that is quite compact in size, but there is only one question thats bugging me a bit. Why Mutt ? Why not toyota Land cruiser BJ 70 or FJ 40? pls help guys.

Love your MUTT man .... MUTT is a thing of beauty and truly it is a joy forever but when the logical part of me takes over my thoughts I feel like its less practical as compared to toyota but still I believe MUTT has a presence a soul while all other machines are just "Machines" ...

I am about to buy one in fact so I would appreciate your guidance regarding the original engine ... reading this post randomly I have realized that there is a split opinion regarding keeping or ditching original engine .... what do u suggest keeping in view the fact that I intend to keep this vehicle with me indefinitely ....

its honor for me to be a proper guide for some new.... but I think Sarmad is the expert regarding MUTT... I my self don't like fabrications and alterations... I love the things in there original shape,,, because I think if I love Mutt it should be a Mutt not a Mercedes or Hummer... to keep its originality live you have to look for a Mutt have all the parts intact... dis mental it totally... fix it after completing all the parts in stock.. go for Good Mechanic.. these vehicles have very good engines and in perfect conditions because very rare usage, only cleaning and changing of seals etc are required in some cases, its a lovely job to restore a nice Mutt... I really love it, still I am searching few original Parts to put in my machine... as I have seen some American videos on you tube... feel free to ask any question when ever you need my help... regards

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Mutt, its M825RR. i have a few questions since i am new to this field.

1, I was having starting trouble as fuel was not being pumped into the carb. To check the electric fuel pump i disconnected the fuel line from the tank and dip the pipe in a bottle full of gas. the pump worked just fine and jeep started in a sec. so i thought maybe the fuel line going in the tank is clogged. to check for that i ended up getting to fuel tank out as i just couldnt open the fuel line on the top of the tank. To my surprise the base of the fuel tank was welded and leak too (that explained the high consumption and petrol smell all over the car porch). now i need to know shd i buy another fuel tank or shd i get this one fixxed ? the denter said that i need to put in a complete metal piece at the base as this one is rusted. how much is a new fuel tank ? my denter will charge me Rs 1500 to fix this one .

1. I live in RWP, famous mutt mechanic Haji tanveer mentioned that putting a suzuki chamber carb (chinese one) make the jeep more economical. is that a good idea ?

Welcome to the crazy world of being a MUTT owner.

1st tell me, do you have an electric fuel pump ? Did you install it cause the ones on these are mechanical. Check that.
I doubt you'll get a newer tank, suggest you get this fixed, price is not bad as quoted.
A Suzuki carb is good on it, works well and very low maintenance. I have it on mine without any troubles, but I have an original Potohar one, not the chinese one.

I replaced Rings in My MUTT
got them from lhr ...were perfectly fine ,,,,n r running the engine gr8 ,,,,,
rings r not a deal but the mechanic does matter .....
change ur rings before they create some other probs .....
