Don't waste your money on ballasts, you can get them from here.
Bulbs/tubes are the main things that make up aligned and perfect light.
Ballast are there to provide current only

My understanding was that it's the ballasts which fail nit the bulbs and morimoto has some crazy longevity something like 3000 starts without blowing out the light?

If I buy ballasts locally would it matter which watt ballast I bought? I mean if the H11 is 35w then how could I attach it to a 75w ballast?

Using 75watts ballast with 9005 and osram xenarc d2s from 5 months. Never gave me any issues.

My advice: Use local ones with morimoto's bulbs.

Also, h11 can bear 55w as well according to them.
Local ballasts aren't complete 55ish, that's why I connected 75w. It is more like 60ish, and provide me with an optimum output

Salam..its nice to see you considering an upgrade for the headlights.
Corolla stock bulbs are H11 for Low beam, 9005 for High and H11 for Fogs.
Now as per your query looks like you only need HIDs and not projectors. But i will advise you that if you have planned to upgrade then do it in a proper way i.e to get Projectors in first. Simply getting HIDs will glare oncoming traffic and is dangerous for you and others.
Using 75w ballasts isnt advisable. It may work for sometime but in the long run it will effect the projectors or the headlights causing them to burn plus it wears out the HID bulb very soon.
If you go for projectors then 35w(OEM Denso) is more than enough.
I have 2 Brand new Stage 3 kits of Mini H1 and Mini D2S with OEM Denso ballasts. Let me know if you need them.

So I got in touch with the retrosourcefit to get morimoto HID ballasts, bulbs etc. they said since it's a foreign model they needed to know what size bulbs were in my car. The number should be like 9006, H1, H7, 9004 etc. I called the Toyota dealership here in Lahore and they started giving me these long 10 digit numbers for the LO, HI and Fog. Anyone have any idea what size I need to get which will not involve any cutting? I'm thinking I just need the LO and Fog replaced since they are quite expensive. Thanks.

Osram Xenarcs nighbreakers d2s to be exact can only be installed in projectors I have shared above. The projectors itself are named as morimoto bixenon mini d2s.
Pair of bulbs cost around 180$ at thereterofitsource.
They come as an oem in the low light aka projectors of Range rover sports.

6500 is the cost of 75w ballast at sehgalmotors.pk and at their shop at montgomery road Lahore

It's a ***** being new to this. I'm more versed in car audio and its tuning. Can you clary what is my best option if I don't want to glare the oncoming traffic. I'm often cursing myself due to that so I wouldn't want to be responsible for that. I guess I need projectors. If I open my budget and wish to go for my best option what would you recommend I buy from theretrosourcefit? Thanks.

Go for Mini H1s with OEM Denso ballasts. It will not require any cutting etc.I have a brand new kit will give it to you in a reasonable price than TRS. Mini D2S are for H4 headlights. It can be fitted in other headlights as well but it will require little bit of cutting.

Dont think about only the life of the bulbs. Think about the effects as well...Mini D2S are max rated for 55w. There is a reason for it...if you go over that it will definitely burn/fade away the chrome reflector inside in the long run. OEM projectors in BMW,Audi and Mercs also burns in the long runs only at 35w
Plus OEM Bulbs last longer. I myself have Philips D2S 85122 in my car and its been more than 4 years. Running good as new.
