As far as i can tell by looking at their jackets, they are wearing protection jackets...

Specially Doc. Yaqoob is wearing the same jacket as me and Imran Bhatti were wearing on our trip to Southern Punjab... Where as Tahir is waring a protection jacket made out of leather... a bit more warm and tough...

2. Which jacket should be preferred? I think blue jacket is better as it can be used in normal environment as less warm?

Did I tell you about the beautiful little villages we passed, I think I did. Here is one of those. Got to have lot more time when I visit northern areas next, this just isnt justice enough. Seriously considering HB's (libra) idea of two month trip.

We had Satpara lake on our agenda for the day but as it is not too far away from Skardu town and we had enough time so turned towards Shigar which is again not too far. I cant recall the exact distance but it is 30 to 45 minutes drive away from Skardu town. The area surrounding Skardu is a high desert as you can see in pictures below.
Sorry for the small resolution and quality of pics. Mobile phone camera pics and some how resolution settings got changed which I did not notice until transferred them on PC.

We were trying to decide where to go in Shigar when I spotted the sign board indicating the way to Shigar fort(Fong Khar). I had missed visiting any fort on my previous trips to north and considering the short time we had to hunt for the places to visit around Shigar, the decision was easy and we ended up at Shigar fort. It is maintained by Serena and entry ticket costs 100 Rs, worth it considering it also can be used as post card and fort is not a bad place to visit.

After spending some time at fort we headed back to Skardu as we had Satpara lake in our plans. The ride back was alright and uneventful. Reached back Skardu and after getting fresh in hotel room and asking for directions, it was time to see the Satpara lake.
