Motomorini coming to India, in collaboration with Vardenchi Customs?
Could the Motomorini's comeback come as a good news for Indian Bikers? Maybe, as nothing is set in stone yet...
Many of you must have heard of Vardenchi Choppers/ Customs in India and if so, you must be reminded of it, when someone in your group mentioned exotic customised Royal Enfields, isn't it? Well, Vardenchi has a large space in Navi Mumbai and deals in not only customised exotics but also with their custom kits.
But you may not know of Motomorini, although I have read an article about Motomorini, in a Magazine few years back.
Moto Morini is an Italian maker of motorcycles. It was founded by Alfonso Morini in Bologna, in 1937. Sadly, it was liquidated in 2010, and fortunately, its back in business since March 2012. It manufactures various models, most of which are of 1187cc, although in the past it was known to be manufacturing motorcycles with cubic capacities around 125, 350 (V Twin), 500 (V Twin), etc.
The deal so far disclosed, is that while Vardenchi will partner Moto Morini to sell the latter's bikes in India, Moto Morini will also import and sell Vardenchi?s creations in Europe in return. More details will uncover with the passage of time.
After an attempt to source engines and frames directly from Royal Enfield bore no fruit, Akshai Varde, the brains behind Vardenchi, has been on the hunt for an alternate source of engines, ideally V-Twins. Moto Morini appears to fit that need smartly and will allow the Indian firm to access these engines and use them as the base for his wild chopper designs. We expect that Morini will import these Morini-powered customs for sale in Europe.
Meanwhile, putting aside the customs, the present models of Moto Morini are no slouch either. Check the most famous ones (with their 1187cc Longitudinal V 87? engine) out:-

2. GRANPASSO 1200: (competition to KTM adventure series, etc.)
