I am also planning to go KHI with family via M5 and have some questions.

1) Is road from Sukkar-Hyderabad safe in the day and nights
2) My car is registered at my name and have Lahore no. I have listened that in the whole way sindh police creates problems while you have punjab no car.
3) What’s usually response of khi traffic police, after looking punjab no.
4) Any other pre-cautions or security measures, which I need to keep in mind while travelling in sindh
5) Please share some good points/spots to visit

Based on my personal experience of travelling with family, following are my responses to your questions:

1) The road from Sukkur-Hyderabad is pretty safe these days, however its best to travel by early hours of night and avoid late night travelling.
2) The police is notorious, no matter how complete your documents are. The best way, IMO is to talk to them with confidence, if the car is in your name and you have all the documents including road insurance and highway code book you should be OK. Still if there is a problem, a couple of local red bucks would certainly help. Its like a road tax.
3) I think no issues
4) No special precaution just usual ones that you undertake while driving on highways
5) You will find plenty of details on this on net / Pakweels. Sea View and Mazar-e-Qaid should be must. Rest plenty of options for eateries, shopping etc. There are are plenty of sea-side spots along the sea belt like Manora, Hawksbey, Sandspit, Paradise Point, Mubarak Village etc.

Highway code book is usually found at Post Offices. Road Insurance, I know about Karachi that its available at Civic Centre. Have no idea about Punjab.

Do-Darya is basically a place where you find hotels (big names and expensive). Besides eating out you cant do much at Do-darya. But yes if you can find some relative who is a member of Marina Club you can enjoy boating and other cool stuffs there. Marina Club and Golf Club are pretty near to Do-Darya.

Brother I have no idea about Punjab. I live in Karachi and know that it can be made at Civic Centre in Karachi. For your city/area you would need to search there.

Road Insurance is for people like me who have not got their cars insured comprehensively.

principally you are correct and similarly the highway code book also does not make sense to keep with Car Documents, but this is our Sindh police who keeps trying to find ways to reach your pockets so it is advisable to keep these documents in your car so you can fullfil their desires to see these docs with you

And what is a highway code book? The simple driving learning book released by traffic police?

If its covered by efu, that's enough for insurance. However, do keep a copy of highway code book along with your car's user manual. Like Farooq commented, its just to show to Sindh police and may never in actual be of any other use to you.

Can you please tell me how many checkpoints are there between Sukkar to Karachi? And how many checkpoints are there we sindh police disturb too much even one have all document.

Last and important thing, how much amount is enough handle them. Here in Punjab, we never face such issues although there are also checkpoints they check the documents and also sometime trunks. But never disturb so much.
However, Islamabad traffic police is same like Sindh police.

About your earlier questions regarding sight seeing, here's my reply to a similar question in the past

Beach is a must, you have lots of choices from the easiest and most crowded Seaview Beach to Hawks Bay, Sandspit, Gadani (which is in Balochistan actually). Seaview will give you the option to have dinner at any Do Darya restaurant which give a beautiful view of the sea at night, or go to Boat Basin nearby. Mohatta Palace (Faitma Jinnah's residence), Quaid e Azam Museum (Quaid's residence), Frere Hall, Quaid's Mausoleum, Empress Market etc. are historic places. Highway (M-9) restaurants, Burns R…

From experience, I can tell that there is no check points on N-5 from Sukkur to Karachi where there is regular snap checking. NHA police is there with their speed guns and all, but they are only doing their duty for a smooth traffic flow and serve the commuters. I did not see any snap checking all the way to Lahore and back, except at the rangers check post at Kot Sabzal which is the border town between Sindh and Punjab, and once I was stopped for over speeding near Rahimyar Khan.
If you are taking all necessary documents with you, do not worry and stubbornly, but politely deal with anyone who stops you anywhere. I doubt that you will be stopped enroute, but God forbid, if you would, tactfully handle the situation and never ever give them a single rupee. The more you waste their time, the more chances that they will let you go to pick someone else. Their usual questions are: Where are you coming from, and where are you going, just to ascertain how much urgency you have to pass through. I know some friends who used to tell that they are going to Pano Aqil Cantt to meet their brother/uncle Colonel/Major so and so and it used to be enough for them, but that's also a thing of the past now.
So get your papers in place, keep calm and enjoy the journey.

I liked your advice brother and your list of places is pretty comprehensive. And I agree that there are negligible chances of encountering these annoying police walay now when one travels on M5. It perhaps may still be the case if one travels on N5 he may still encounter them near the provincial boarder.

Agreed that when you have all the required papers there is no need to give any money but if you lack any documentation (how useless that may be) you may end up doing that. But in any case it should not be more then a Rs 100 or 200.
