Motorway trip,what to check

This is where you went wrong you tried too hard to keep your car at 120 on slopes, man that act is prohibited on highways only those who drive all the time on city roads do this. While going uphill you should not have floored the vehicle at any cost. On salt range while going uphill I travel at 60-70 max and rest all motorway 110+. I have got a manual so its easy to that, but in auto I think it can be done easily by not increasing your cars rpm and let the speed keep dropping and when its low enough shift to the gear that you use to move your car initially and than keep moving at around 2500-3000 rpms while going uphill

Well I always follow this technique and have successfully done the slopes of salt range + abbottabad many times on small vehicles with full load on CNG so you have to learn these things to keep happy.

Also not every car has an engine that can happily keep reving at around 4-5k rpm in higher gears and if you have got the car second hand than you cannot risk this by going on motorway with family thinking well this is civic and it must do 150km/hr so I can keep it happy at around 120km/hr.

Just to quote my case when I bought honda city second hand last year, the purpose at hand was travel to karachi by road. I got the car completely computerized checked from honda 3s and all the readings were same which I saw in a 2010 honda city which was in a perfect condition, so I got satisfied but those morons again created doubt in my mind as was about to leave because my car was making clicking and that latter I found on every single honda city in lahore. Before actually hitting the road for karachi I mad a prototype run of about 300 kms on M-2 just to check whether every thing goes fine. Even when the journey was halfway I myself checked all the things fluid levels and every thing was fine so just floored the car a little bit on my return.

Now that all has been done I suggest you to inspect eveything closely and possibly do a compression test and if there is some major work than just swap the engine dont think of repairing a honda engine. I seriously that the problem are wide as your car was struggling to reach 120km/hr and on petrol. A civic having 1500cc engine should have no issues whatsoever in reaching at speeds even 150km/hr. So get every thing checked

test drive with new tires on petrol was better than on cng n pick was fine

i went to peshawar side so there was no salt range,there were no major slopes,one came but it was first downhil n then uphill so picked speed till 120 while going down n easily got up with same speed

it was actually the long curvy road where i didnt maintained the speed of 100-120 as it was not str8 road
so speed used to reduce to 80 then i use to pick speed n sometimes i floor it,same happened when i went to GIKI yesterday n it went fine

are you sure its just the tappet cover n belt cover?
cox when i asked mechanic to check it,he said almost of the things need to be opened to check it n it will take 3 to 4 hours

U need to change ur mechanic chodri bhai... Installing timing belt in civic 01-06 is hardly a two hours job. and u say he will check it in 4 hours? :o

He wants to switch some parts... indeed... :S

yea thats what he told me,he said almost half the engine parts need to be opened to check this :S

its the same mechanic who tuned the car n idle speed was at 500rpm at D n R
asked him to increase it till 1
first he decreased it down till 0 n then increased up to 1100rpm for D n R
n 1500rpm for P mode :o

looking for a better mechanic who knows how to handle civic

they are local mechanics only with better tools. Go to a good CNG tune-up shop and they can do something nice to your car. There were threads about the best tune-up centers in your city, go check those for some informative feedback. I think Enercon is in your city, they are really good as I have heard many of fellow pak wheelers praising them a lot. Go there and you would get some thing more out of your car.

yea enercon is in islamabad,will visit there for cng tune up,also some1 suggested a guy named NAZEER in G8 markaz at electro mag shop for checking the car

well you can get a thorough check-up of your car... What they say is " You take care of your car, and the car will take care of you".

well i am taking care of it since i got it,dont know about its history....
tune guys can also do a thorough check up?

i faced the same problem with my vti prosmatec 2002. changed the timing belt, the gaskit(4 times) in a week, spent 9000 rupees on all that and i was continuously asking the mechanic to check the radiator but he was refusing that the radiator is okay. in the end got pissed, went to the radiator wala and he took 400 rs and after that the problem solved. from that day i learned not to trust the mechanics

Get the overheating problem fixed first. An engine that is overheating will be damaged and then a low/high idle will be the least of your concerns.

UPDATE
spent all day today
got the radiator serviced,
gasket got burnt,got a new one
but engine remain saved n no damage to engine

timing belt was checked,it was fine

the actual issue was that radiator was blocked thats why it got heat up other than that there's no major issue,thanks to ALLAH

rest they cleaned spark plugs etc
mobiloil n oil filter will be changed because mechanic said that it also gets burnt

today after all this,when i drove it,i felt that pick is much better now,but i didnt crossed 80 as mobiloil needs to be changed which will be done tomorrow

also i noticed that mileage has increased with new tires(205/60/15 to 195/65/15) as well
n also car has lifted up with new tires :o

cng refilled at reserve from turbela road for 657rs at full pressure since they were filling one car at a time
total mileage was 130km,50 in city rest on motorway n around 10-15km on turbela road with ALOT of speed breakers
anyways average comes out to be 5rs/km

now condenser service left for tomorrow n the idling speed to be set
and the tire cover sheet (new for 525rs)

then will get it checked from another guy to check if there's any issue n then again the cng tuning from ENERCON
