Can anyone tell me if it's necessary these days to pre-charge a car battery before using it in the car? I'm specifically looking to buy an AGS car battery. Can I somehow charge it at home?

What power (not sure what the exact word should be) would be sufficient for a 1300cc car? Right now I am using a GL85.

buy a small 10 amp charger. its easily available at most electronic places, in karachi cheapest place to buy would be sarmad road near pass port office, place with plenty of solar equipment shops,

price was about 700-800.

you can also get from daraz for about 1500-2000 same item.

incidentally i have 3 of these. 1 is spare.

Aoa. I am going to buy a battery for my ups (local made) with a budget of 7000 rs. The load I'll be putting on it is one ceiling fan and 4 energy savers. Loadshedding in our area is 10 hours/24 hrs. I am thinking of buying phoenix xp 100. Will it be enough to support the backup?

1 hour loadshedding each for ur setup is enough. WHen i say enough then enough. But the last 10th hour will the ups charge the battery quickly enough that last 9th and 10th hour battery gives 1 long backup. Thats the matter of UPS being good quality or bad.

Some bad ups will give complete 10 hour backup but by overcharging it due to low voltage of ur house or powerplug where ups is connected. If low voltage less than 210. Chinese ups will overcharge battery leading to wuick battery death in 6 months. And sign of that is water refilling every 4th day. Because no trickle charge system in ups. Cheaply made expensively sold due to goodwill or brand name.

Some desi ups will not be able to give 10 hour but 6-7 hour backup and last 9th and 10th could give 30-45 minutes.
Due to bad wuality stuff in ups or bought 600 watts but inside is 400 watts. Leading to slow charge and less backup. Plus if no trickle charge then overcharging will lead yo quick battery death plus bad backup.

And 6months later u will be again here asking for what to do.

Dear sir, aoa, i m facing problem with my UPS, Solar setup. I had been using dry battery of Hawk 170 AH with Homage inverter, this give me very good backup.
Last year i wanted to install solar system of 1KVA with Solar inverter of Cyberpower, for which battery of 24 volt was required. I attached one Exide battery of 180. Since then i m facing problem of very low backup out of these batteries. I got these batteries checked up from battery mechanic of good repute. He says batteries are ok and the problem may b due to attaching of dry battery with acid battery.
What r ur views in this regard.

Today I discovered New function in Abid’s UPS after 3 years. Lol.
I brought the ups to Abid for tuning it after 3 years of running. And he fixed things which costed me 3200 rs just things cost. But. Ups is new again. His function was that. Suddenly electricity voltage went to 300 volts. His ups cut Wapda and started running all upe connected appliances on ups. When the voltage came abck to normal. His ups connected wapda back.

Amazing.

And still people are skeptic of me or abid.
My 1000 watts ups is 3 years old going into 4th year. And AGS 200 battery is going into 3rd year since march. Of 2017. Giving 6 hours backup. Alhamdulillah.

Call abid to get better things and service. He might be expensive in his things but they work. Many people call him after getting 3-4 ups replaced that koi acha ups milta hi nhn. But when hear his price. Then also don’t call back. Pata nahin aur kahan kahan jaana hei. Seedhi baat hazam nhn hoti.

My professor says. Ameer ka bacha 400 mei theek hota hei. Ghareeb ka 40000 mei. Q keh woh har jaga jaata hei. Peer, faqeer. Quack. Etc.

Only one user since 4 years of posting here has hought abids ups and no complain from him. Infact he admired. I dont understand why people are over skeptic from right people and ghalat bandoun se dhoka kha baithty hen. Woh bhi zyada paisy lagwa kr. Shayed apnay aamaal hngay.

I am not asking to buy his. Try to find good ones. APC IS GOOD. but pakistani hisaab se desi is better if made in proper way. Unkess u have too much money to buy every function company made then go for it. But research whether company has R& D department ya bas china se le kr idher baichti jaa rhi hei

Abid puts too many. Way too many safties in his ups to protect his ups , to protect your house appliances and to protect your battery and get the most backup without ruining the life of battery and giving longevity.

2 fans will consume about 400 watts,

drawing about 35 amp from the battery. should last about 5 hours or less.

If battery is moved from engine bay to the trunk with proper 0 or 1 gauge pure copper wiring, would the protection from engine heat increase its life?

BMWs typically have batteries under the rear seat or in the trunk and last 5-6 years easily.

My Phoenix UGS175 is finally dead after running reliably for 4 years and was giving 4-5 hours. I was away for eid holidays and breaker tripped due to which it didn't received equalizing charge and when light went off, it hardly lasted 30 minutes and ups went off...

Now it hardly lasts 2-3 minutes on single fan... is there any option to revive it or should I replace it... (better option as it already has lasted good 4 years).

Kindly suggest which battery should I go for... I have desi ups of 1000w
I plan to go for tubular battery but heard lithium ones are better with slightly higher price..?

if electrolyte level is good then you can try the following. First charge is at very small amps like 1-2 for like 6 hours. Afterwards adjust your UPS cut off point to a high voltage like 14.5 volts and let it charge for few hours. later on bring the cut off back to normal i.e. 14.1 and 13.6 float charge.

This technique can help remove desulfation. I revived my battery this way. After a couple of charge/discharge cycles you will see improvement in backup time. BUT if a cell is short, then your battery is dead.

Whenever you need to be away for eid holidays, remove battery terminals.
